Splenic Rub

Good Morning

Has anyone had any experience of a Splenic rub sound? Ive been mentioning 'a rattling' to just about every Doc I've come across and they always say your lungs are clear, but putting 2 + 2 together and getting 6 I am wondering as I just found out that my spleen is enlarged. It happens when I breathe in and clearly nothing to do with lungs

Hi LHR,

I have a spleen that is twice the size it should be, and although my lungs are fine, I do get wheezing, and shortness of breath, because, I think, my lungs are being constricted. It is worse after eating, when my stomach is full, and with my enlarged liver, also gives me capsule pain.

So grateful for any information. I recall you mentioned about your spleen before, horrid to hear your in pain I'm not to sure whats going on other than consultant said over phone mine is enlarged but not sure by how much. Hope you have a comfortable weekend x

and I've just read your latest post...seems that we are both thinking about the same thing. I have been searching for spleen and bowel varices information too as my upper GI is clear of varices however I am diagnosed as having Portal Hypertension too. Good luck with getting more information next week

Hi, you should write down questions you have and ask them at your appointment.......otherwise they will commit themselves as little as possible.

I totally agree David, everyone should write a list but also tick off each question as you go! I say this because I forgot to ask one important question at my last visit due to being side tracked by my consultant onto another subject which is easily done!
