I came here with Portal Hypotension. Now, I have colorectal cancer which has 'broadcast' itself to lungs and liver. I will acknowledge this but not identify with it, therefore will not say 'My'. I am not in denial and understand it will be a a difficult battle. i wish you all the love in the world in your respective battles. Yet, let's make it one huge battle we can fight together Think of all that lovely energy going up into the stratosphere Why Not

Amen, prayers and thoughts are with you! 🙏
Hello Jon, you can post where you want on heathunlocked as long as the rules are followed, and as your condition now effects the Liver I would say you are definitely in the right place. Several years ago my brother fractured his arm getting out of the bath, after a scan they found prostrate cancer (undiagnosed) had metatarsal to his bones and other organs and they gave him six months to live. He went through all the therapy and treatment they advised. And he has been first in the queue on any experimental medication, and has responded remarkably. He takes each day as it comes and holidays a lot in Malta which he also credits with his continued stabilisation of his condition. They love him at the hospital cancer clinic, he is always upbeat and positive, he puts me to shame with my problems.
None of us know what's around the corner, we just need to treat this biological vehicle the best we can and take each day as it comes.
All the best Jon 👍 Regards Anthony.
Dear Anthony, May I say that as brothers, each of you is fortunate in the other Such mutual strength and the strength and comfort of shared memories, in the remembering of them, or the creating of new ones is surely what binds us together. Sorry, I am clumsy today! I am so very glad to hear about your brother in what you share with us I am sure that both of you is an inspiration for which, Thank you All the very best to you and spologies for my delays in response Regards, Jon

Thank you, this is very useful to know I wish that my 'caregiver' would call you We have no support from our once excellent local surgery (Which has amalgamated into several others) I suppose that the Macmillan nurses will be more present, once the chemo begins? And the community nurses, when they come, are very good. So, in this we are blessed, Kind Regards and wishing each of you great strength, Jon
Dear JonBechstein
Thank you for your kind words and the nurses are here for you both if you ever may need to talk with them.
We also facilitate a range of virtual support groups for people living with a liver condition (and their families and carers). If you or your care giver would find it helpful to speak to others with shared experience, you can register to join a group here and our next Carers drop-in is Wednesday 10th April at 1pm.
