Happy New year everyone hope it was as good as can be expected for each and every one of you.

It's so frustrating trying to get a gp appointment when the phones are constantly engaged and when you finally get through to be told sorry try again tomorrow (which will be today).

I've been battling with fever on and off since Sunday. I don't have a thermometer so not sure of actual readings but I've had to change linen and have used bath sheets during the night to try keep fresh linen from getting wet again. I got so hot at times I just wanted to go stand outside to cool down but ended up double folding the duvet over Dave and opening windows instead. I've tried cool face cloth and shower to bring temp down but it doesn't seem to have helped. I have a sore head ears and my throat feels raw but speech is fine but hurts. Obviously not being able to take any medicine for a fever hasn't helped.

I'm really worried as I don't feel anymore pain anywhere more than usual except my lower back and that could be from shivering. The last time I ran fevers like this I ended up having emergency surgery on my stomach despite going back forth to the doctor and getting diagnosed with mostly bladder infections and gp appointments in sa are so expensive unless you go to a public hospital where you could be there for days before being seen and very seldom beds or linen - sorry I went off on a tangent there ...

Does anyone else get fevers and sore throats regularly? It's so frustrating 😫 and worrying.

Re the sweating - pre my TP I was frequently sweating at night to the extent you seem to be - often having to sleep at the other end of the bed - yuk.... It wasn’t a fever it was an effect of having cirrhosis and when I told Consultants about this there was absolutely no concern or surprise..... I think lots of others on here have also had similar symptoms. What do your doctors say?

And did you follow up on Trust1’s advice re available documentation and, I think, the Helpline?

You say you are in sa..is that South America, South Africa or (U) SA? Sorry, just being nosey!

Hi, thank you for your reply. I am following that up but being constantly exhausted makes it really difficult.

Dependent on the situation, they may be able to get you a face to face appointment with a doctor. Remember to tell NHS111 about any diagnosis's or conditions you have.

Thank you. I worked for them for a year and that would be a last resort.

I have managed to get an appointment for this afternoon.
