My reading in September was 33, however I’ve had a CT scan, a MRI scan and ultrasound, and they show no evidence of cirrhosis?? I do have iron load in my liver due to hemochromatosis though. I’ve stopped drinking alcohol (day 113) though.

Fibroscan reading 33
Deja vu.
My bloods were flagged for iron overload 3yrs ago however the Gastro Consultant ignored it by stating, "lose the alcohol or lose the liver."
Roll on 2019 my Fibroscan mid 20's was correct in conjunction with the US & bloods etc confirmed Cirrhosis.
Different strokes.🤔
Good morning Marcwinchester,
I can understand your concern with an elevated fibroscan score, however, it may be beneficial to have it repeated once the iron excess is removed from your liver.
Inflammation in the liver can also give a high reading and a series of fibroscan tests may prove more diagnostic?
If you are concerned may I suggest having another chat with your doctors and to request ongoing monitoring?
I have included links to haemachromatosis and liver disease tests explained.
