I'm sorry l don't have specific direct experience with those drugs but l will tell you, I had cytoxan, vincristine and actinomycin - d for ovarian cancer in 1975. I also had treatment with Zepatier and ribivarin for Hep C in 2017. I know that there are unknown long term effects and immediate possible side effects with any drugs, but surely the benefits outweigh the risks if they will extend your boyfriend's life? I'm sure his doctor can give you more information to help him make the best decision. One thing you should know, cancer is not usually a quick, painless way to go, but of course he has the right to refuse treatment and deal with his fate on his own terms. Is a transplant or other surgery totally out of the equation? Wishing you both all the best as you face this hardest of all dilemmas.
I do not have experience with those Chemo drugs but in 2016 I had colon cancer that had spread to my liver and the cancer is now in remission and they find no evidence of disease when I have a c-scan. I had a liver resection that worked and chemo got rid of the spots in my liver. The side effects were manageable and they have things you can take to help out if you get sick. I found out about the cancer when I was diagnosed with PBC. Of course it is your decision what you want to do but for me it was worth the risk. Love and God bless you both Kathey
Hi,
You may want to contact AMMF, they are a charity specifically for Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile duct cancer) and have a lot of info on new research trials.
