1000 days sober

Since being diagnosed with cirrhosis in 2016 and oesophageal varices my whole world has changed for the better, I was an alcoholic for many years and I’ve lead one heck of a life even though I’m only 42, I’ve also got Conary heart disease in which I’ve had multiple stents and I’m also a type 2 diabetic where I’m insulin dependent. I now work for the NHS as a dual diagnosis lived experienced practitioner, myself and my wife also run a free alcohol support group, and I also have an Amazon best selling book called Your Choice. I wrote it to spread the awareness surrounding addiction but to also show that there is life after it. I wish you all the very best in your journey wherever it may take you. Xx

Incredibly well done mate. Abstinence, recovery and an advocate - indeed a fine ambassador... In addition it appears a very proud family.

Wow! What an inspiration you are. Well done on 1000 days too although even that is dwarfed by your other achievements.

I just ordered a copy of Your Choice and read the first three chapters online on Amazon, some wild times so far! Fair play again for writing the book and helping others.

Thank you, I’m nothing special but just a person that doesn’t want anyone to suffer the way I have. Hope you enjoy the rest of the book. Myself and my wife wrote it in our own words that took two years. Let me know what you thought once you’re finished. 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi

You are an inspiration for what you have achieved, you have shown such courage and commitment. I have Nash caused by meds from my drs but I have known one or two alcoholics and know it is an illness as well as an addiction which as you know can make someone very poorly but is hard to abstain from so well done to you for showing them the right path to go down. Your family must be so proud. Carry on the good work. Lynne

Fantastic achievement. Helping others is amazing, alcohol and drug addiction is so often down to people not getting the mental health help they needed. I worked with adults in this dillema and the tiniest of steps forward equalled a marathon run! Such a positive story! Hazelx

Congratulations.
