Severe leg pain

Good morning ,

I currently have severe right thigh pain localized along the top toward the knee joint. The pain can sometimes be excruciating not unlike burning, other times the area can be completely numb or very tender to touch. My Gp prescribed me some medium strength steroid cream for a rash that was also present. That has cleared up now but the pain is more persistent than ever. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Hi

Yes, I have. I was diagnosed with sciy a few weeks ago, and it rears its ugly head every so often!! I also have fibromyalgia which gives me so much pain as does the sciatica. I also have Nash amongst other things!! I really hope you get some relief soon. Love and hugs Lynne.

The pain meds I am on are nortriptyline, oramorph and zomorph, also paracetamol, sometimes cuprofen. I was taken off pregabalin as it did nothing for me. If I didn't vtaje these meds I wouldn't be able to get out if bed in a morning!! Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Many thanks Lynne. Seems as if you've had it all thrown at you. I was at Kings yesterday where the consultant said that it's muscle wastage due my liver disease. I think I will push my GP on this one.

Thanks again xx

Crikey Lynne. You appear to be a living / breathing version of the British medical journal. Lol xx

Going to chase this up this morning. An ex work colleague had fibromyalgia and she used to get in a real state of pain especially her fingers.

Thanks Lynne.

I shouldn't go on as there are people on the forum who are in a far worse state than me but I have never experienced pain quite like it.

Its concentrated to about a 2 inch strip on the top of the thigh to the top of knee. The area either side of it has no pain whatsoever. Weird! xx
