Phoned GP today to find out b'ham sent them a letter the day after I had appointment (7th Feb)
The letter says "I had a clear liver aetiology screen and a normal FibroScan on two occasions. Also mentions about the endoscopy I had at local hospital (gastro) saying that the grade 1 oesophageal varices on that test could be subject to overinterpretation of oesophageal columns???
Bloods revealed normal liver synthetic function with bilirubin 9, albumin 54, INR 1. ALT 96 with Gamma GT of 186.
Says they have sent off bloods today for urinary organic acid profile and serum amino acid profile and will append these in due course to explore potential OTC.. what's OTC?
Sorry for lengthy post...urgh.. I feel like death! every joint in my body hurts now with increased "brain fog" and worsened headaches.
Another blood test tomorrow from GP for Vitamin D, ESR, Bone & CRP.
Anyone had any specific problems related to raised ALT & GGT? I Don't drink at all.
Also noticed more thin red veins on my wrists and base of my palms...

Not at all, I just hope you get some medical answers soon.
More information on the condition above at:- ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/o... One chapter reads "In some affected individuals, signs and symptoms of ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency may be less severe, and may not appear until later in life. The late-onset form of the disorder occurs in both males and females. People with late-onset ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency may experience episodes of altered mental status, such as delirium, erratic behavior, or a reduced level of consciousness. Headaches, vomiting, aversion to protein foods, and seizures can also occur in this form of the disorder."
