Hi lynne Master of Arts
Yes but only started last week. Blood in you know what as well. Ambulance to hospital (and this time I could remember it 😁(last time I was having a humdinger of an HE episode and remember nowt 😁)
Seeing the consultant next Tuesday. Hospital said I needed a colonoscopy like you. Can’t wait....
All the best Lynne for Saturday!

Thank you. I wish I was clever enough to have Master of Arts.
At least I will get to the bottom of it , pardon the pun!! Hope you go on on on Tuesday
Good luck to both of you. I had to have a gastroscopy and colonoscopy together. As long as you ask for sedation you'll be fine. I've got to have another gastroscopy in 8 weeks. It's not my favourite pastime but it's not as bad as other things I've had done. I had to have a camera up my nose and down my throat to check my vocal cords before my thyroidectomy. That was horrendous or maybe I'm just getting used to camera's going where they really shouldn't. 😵 Deb x

Thanks Lynne.
Very good 😁 but I’m trying my best not to keep going on on on. 😁 I find not eating helps but my daughter tells me off for some reason...

Yes, I had to have one up nose and down throat to check how much acid I was making. I don't think any of them are nice. The last gastroposy I had I had ketamine cos the tube was wider, I only disturbed once, I said that's the best sleep I've had in ages!!! Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Ketamine- yoiks - Ithought that was a”naughty” drug....

😂 very good. . My sons are the same!! I've got to eat little and often instead, it doesn't seem to making much difference. I'm a bit fed up like we can all get. Take care Lynne

Too right Lynne. Wife keeps telling me to be a half full glass (you know what I mean 😁). My but sometimes (like now) its tough. Four weeks ago I could walk 1/2 mile without stopping and stand upright as a stick. Now it’s about 50 yards, concrete feet, bent over, stomach pains, side pains yoiks. Had US scan at Birmingham hosp today and an xray. Only thing they told me (rang when we were on train home 😁 - home yippee 😁) was they were going to post me some antibiotics. Got to go Birmingham hosp again next Monday, Deby hosp next Tuesday. Ah well.
#Now, when I talked to God, I knew He'd understand
He said, "Stick by my side and I'll be your guiding hand
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to"
Thank you fleetwood mac.
Don’t know why i thought of that lol 😁
Take care Lynne and sleep tight!

Ketamine is also a horse tranquilizer but it can be used on us as well!!! Sleep tight , no chance, everywhere is hurting right now. Hot water bottles are great!!! Always used them as a kid when we didn't have central heating, I was about 12 when my Mum and Dad could afford it!! It was great!! Take care Lynne

Awww Lynne 😪. We didn’t have central heating either, but could be because we lived in Barbados 🇧🇧 😁.
But not sleeping isn’t funny and I shouldn’t think it’s very good for you at all! Can you take codeine (I know it’s addictive but does cut through my pain way better than paracetamol- which seldom does owt for ne except for headaches)
There’s nothing you can do though when the codeine effect wears off like tonight sleep 0100 to 0400 - don’t like taking more codeine...

Hi
I'm not allowed to take codeine cos it clashes with other meds . Said as they reduce I should be able to have codeine to break through the pain. Take care Lynne

Just curious Miles..Is it coming out black or red in your you know what?
• in reply to
Well Being a wimp I didnt look close 😁 I’m sure neither time it was black. From memory - what memory - it was reddy brown 😁. Omg TMI.
Hi Lynne. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy recently . Like you I had the runs as well as tarrry stools with lower abdominal pain. The procedure discovered 3 things. I have a stomach ulcer which explains the sometimes tarry stools and sometimes the runs. Also discovered I have a hernia which explains lower abdominal pain the surgeon also found three polyps in my bowel which he removed. I had hep c Genus one for 39 years, very recently got rid of the virus with a 3 month course of zepatier. One tablet daily. Now my liver function tests are normal. Apart from ulcer and hernia which are not life threatening my outlook and prognosis is good. Hopefully, and I might add in most cases a colonoscopy results in findings like mine. I hope your diagnosis turns out to be good too. Take care, keep calm, don't stress the liver, stay cheerful, and have a good day.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's the stuff the night before that knocks me sick. Not looking forward to it but don't think anyone would like them. I am so tender in the lower abdomen, I just want it sorting . I'm lucky though, I've got a very good family and friends and all of you on here. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Hi Lynne, are you taking iron tablets or a multi vitamin?, I was put on a multi vit as I have low vit A and borderline low vit E and v low vit D. I took them for a couple of weeks and had terrible lower abdo pain, diarrhea and generally felt odd. My gp said iron can give you the runs.
When I had colonoscopy I was given an enema when I arrived, you had to hold it for 10 mins, then the inevitable happens. Much better than pints of the prep the night before when I had barrium enema x ray, so I empathise with you on that!!
I hope things are OK for your current problems get resolved.
Hi, I'm currently waiting for results of CT scan I had following an USS which showed more lymph nodes on the liver. I've had nodes since 2015, but obviously they saw something had changed as they wanted to re check. I'd had a CT in Feb which showed atrophy of right side with compensated enlargement of the left. Grossly enlarged spleen with varices on.
I'm seeing DR's on 28th at the satellite transplant clinic ( I live in Somerset, so I go to Plymouth which is linked with Kings LDN). My Ukeld is 54, but I don't know if they still use that for making transplant decisions. My bloods are showing the liver is starting to struggle, rising bilirubin, low albumin + the platelets are low. But having had PBC for 12 years ( diagnosed then, I think I've had symptoms since 2000), I've seen many Drs, been told lots of different things, usually resulting in we'll wait and see!!
I'm sorry you're having to have further horrid tests, hopefully you'll get some answers, and treatment.
PS, I spent 7 years on very strong pain killers (fentynl) + tramadol, and as I was still in pain I decided to come off them. I was weaned off them and the drop from 100mcg to 75, then 50 made no difference to my level of pain. From 50mcg to 25mcg was a shock of more pain but now having stopped all together my pain is still bad, but the amount of drugs didn't improve it to a level which made a difference!! However, I didn't realise how much they were effecting my ability to get things done, turning me into a zombie!! I have much more get up and go, much better appetite. I have tried to move to pregablin, but my liver didn't approve so I am left in significant pain, but able to do more to take my mind off it!! Night times are the worst, along with itching, I like you spend a lot of the night awake!!
Maybe you’ve developed an eating intolerance. The liver produces the enzymes that break down different foods in the gut. Since my liver isn’t working well, I can’t eat egg, dairy, pork, aubergine, soya and yeast. These used to just cause diahorea but now make me sick as well. Try eliminating all intolerance food then slowly introduce one at a time and see what happens. Last Christmas I was so I’ll when still eating these foods.
That's really interesting Julie. I didn't twig that my 4 months of stomach issues might be good intolerance related. Right will start trying to eliminate things. Best wishes
Hi Lynne - I had chronic diarrhoa for six months after a burst appendix. Someone mentioned gluten. I gave up all wheat and after 2 days it stopped. That was 18 months ago and still ok without touching gluten. Linda
Hi there. Ketamine, now we're talking! I think it' is used on trauma patients sometimes. I did suffer from considerable pain but now take meds for Chrons and things have improved a lot. They diagnosed ulcerative colitis first then Chrons after colonoscopy. Passing any blood is quite scary but it's really quite common and not necessarily too serious although I'm not sure if you have had that problem. I know you'll be looking forward to it like a turkey is Christmas but hopefully they'll find out what's going on and treat your pain. Good luck with it all.

Thank you so much. You've all been so kind. Hope you all sleep well. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Hi

I had an op for gerd called fundoplication. I have IBS, diverticulitis, gastritis, non alcoholic steatohepititis with some fibrosis, under active thyroid, fibromyalgia, depression, oa of the knees to name but a few!!!! Please take care. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Yes, I have lower abdominal pains. I'm actually under a gastroenterologidt who has already done a gastrocopy and ultrasound of organs etc. He thought/thinks maybe ibs... but as of yesterday found out my liver is damaged (fibroscan 11.9) so thinking achy stomach might be liver related. Take care
Hi
Thank you
I have Nash, IBS, depression, gastritis, diverticulitis, under active thyroid and diabetes, costochondritis. I had a colonoscopy last Saturday but the prep hadn't worked properly so I've got to have another one, they did find a polyp though. My consultant is going to discuss everything with me in clinic in February. Take cate
The pain is really getting me down but I will keep smiling 😉 I'm lucky I've got very supportive family and friends and also all of you lovely people in here. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
