Pain meds with tylenol: Been Percocet... - British Liver Trust
Pain meds with tylenol
Tylenol does not cause jaundice. Tylenol can damage the liver. A damaged liver can cause jaundice.
Percocet for recreative use is not a very smart idea.
Are you by chance taking any other meds for your condition? Tylenol over in Europe and the UK is known as paracetamol. One of the livers many functions is to filter and clean's 2000 litres of blood and it does this 350 times a day. This cleaning function, is to rid the body of any dangerous, toxic products. All medication will pass through the liver and some can be more toxic than others, and if your taking more than one type of medication, then the overall toxicity may well be tripled.
Large quantities of paracetamol over a long period of time, can do a terrible amount of damage to the liver and cause irreversible liver damage. You never said as to why your taking Tylenol in the first place.
Please seek medical advice about this matter.
Do not continue to use acetaminophen as it is indeed damaging to the liver and as such may result in jaundice indirectly
Woops. Cut off continuing.. if you need something stronger for pain you can take oxy- ir 10 mg or 20 mg. It is pure oxycocodone and has no Tylenol in it. Ask your physician.
