I wonder if anyone has had similar results to myself? I have been to see consultant today and he was confused about my results. An ultrasound of my liver showed stage 4 cirrhosis and a fibroscan showed stage 2 liver disease! He has asked for another scan and has sent me for numerous blood tests including Hep A/B/C. It is all very confusing!

I’ve been through the whole process lasting 4 years and was NEVER given info of what stage I was at. Didn’t even know there were stages - honestly. Yet still ended up positive for me - a T/P on the 27 August this year!
I would say (others may disagree) please don’t get too involved in the detail. As long as they keep testing you it will all “come out in the wash”!
I agree with Twosmiles, for me it all seems to be a case of trust.
Once diagnosed and on the radar it seems to all work out.
I find the waiting for things very hard as I was born a control freak.
I am sure.
Slowly I am learning that the doctors all know what they are doing.
That I cannot control this.
So you have landed on just the right site. You will get loads of great help and advice on this fabulous site.

I'm so glad that you have a special person to be there with you on this journey. I personally wanted to learn more about the liver and have a greater understanding of what I was up against. If you are like this too, then I can strongly recommend the FutureLearn course, "Liver Disease: Looking after Your Liver" this is free to join and is very informative. They do another course called, "Liver Transplant: the Ins and Outs". Once again this is free. Having said that, I paid for mine as I wanted to get to answer all the questions in the end and get the course certificate. Both these courses are run by the liver staff at Birmingham's QE Hospital and University. All you need do is set aside just 3-hours a week, for 3-weeks. You can get to chat with people all over the world and share points of interest. I can strongly recommend these courses to everyone. Thank you Richard, I will have a look at that, sounds like it would be worthwhile. I have Hemochromatosis, which has caused my liver problems and I have read extensively about it. But I hadn't considered it would affect my liver, so now I am trying to arm myself with as much information about this as I can
