More good news!

Hello everyone and thank you all for your comments and good wishes re my progress (albeit slow, lol.) Well now even more good news!. Saw my hepatology specialist today and he told me all the blood tests that I've had over the last 4 weeks are very good and my liver function results are excellent. Had my prednisolone reduced by 1 tablet (5mg) so now on 15mg. He says that my backache (that on getting to standing position can be a really sharp pain and enough to take my breath away!) that is plaguing me at the moment could be due to some bone density loss as I have been ill over 4 years and 3 years of that I've been on sonaferib chemo daily. For the moment I've had my meds for nerve pain increased just in case the backache is caused by nerve damage from transplant. If that doesn't work then there will be other things that can be done to help. All in all a very positive meeting. Hopefully soon this tortoise may start having an amble as a start to my training for my race with Twosmiles, lol. Hey Miles what about a triathlon?!! lol. Wishing you all the very bestest best.

Thank you. I sure that I will be reading this sort of thing from you before you know it. I'd better not offer to bake you a cake when it happens because from what I recall from my history lessons (in the days of yore!) Alfred the Great wasn't too good at baking!! lol. Keep smiling x

It seems to be movement that makes it worse at the moment. Sometimes takes the wind out of my sails! I'm at another clinic on 30th oct so I will know by then if the increase in the nerve meds have helped or not, if not I expect another avenue may be explored.

Hope you get it sorted soon. Back pain causing limited mobility must be miserable but keep your chin up x

I will do thanks Laura. I'm just so pleased that the new liver is working well that all the other stuff is just secondary, albeit a nuisance!

Hi

I had nerve damage from the transplant and it took a while, a good 9 months to disappear. Mine was due to the siatic nerve. It’s fine now

Onwards and upwards!

Hi Isabelle. Did you get backache from the nerve damage? Mine is backache when sitting or laid down and real pain when I first stand and then as I move about it's back to backache.
