I am 35 with stage 4 cirrhosis. I’ve been on the hospital every month for about the last half year. I have had the aTIPS shunt put in in June. I’m 1 mth free of nicotine which means I have5more to go before I can be put on the list. I have many questions, and I enjoyed reading everyone’s messages and information. Just wanted to say thanks and I hope America has a decent transplant program.

Hi Gidget
Welcome to this wonderful world of ours. BTW (by the way 😀) we like to know the origin/meaning of people’s nickname - so if you have time/can be bothered 😀 there is a post by brett11 where this info is put. Gidget - thats a new one on me!
GJ re smoking, (you seem very young to have cirrhosis- poor uou) and I hope the next 5 months goes well for you. I had similar thing but with alcohol (now 4 and 1/2 half years free from the chain yipeeeee)
Hello and welcome
Hey welcome to the family love. I hope this forum and its shared knowledge can help you along your travels. If you dont mind me asking . What was the cause of the cirrhosis?
I wondered that but was brave enough to ask - no wonder they call me you Phoenix. I hope you can indeed rise from the ashes 😀

Ah well foggy brain strikes again
Such a positive smile, and you’re showing great courage in the face of - in relative terms by the stories here - adversity. Everyone likes to see/hear that. Very best of luck and although you don’t indicate the exact cause of the current diagnosis, with an attitude like that, you’ll be fine....fairly sure.
