Been feeling unwell again so went to the doctors and sent for blood tests need to see my GP tomorrow about LFT results the receptionist is unable to discuss them. Also I needed my U&Es and Creanintine test repeated. Will those results be relevant to each other? Thank you xx

LFFTs are looking at the function of the liver. Creatinine is looking at the function of the kidneys. I get LFTs checked regularly- depends on frequency of request from doctor overseeing your meds. The kidney checks are usually done every 6 months. The receptionist cannot discuss them because they require interpretation by a doctor. They're not like a blood sugar test that just requires a simple feedback answer. Hope that helps :)

Thanks the receptionist said the others where normal. When I first rang for results I was told I needed to repeat the U&E, Creatinine then an hour later they rang me and said I needed to see the GP about the LFT results. I’ll see what they say tomorrow the last time they where very abnormal. xx

Usually you need to speak to the GP because they are out of range, but this could be just one result. I have a few that are out of range all the time and they have become "normal for me". Best of luck :) I think the U& E is also kidneys, but best to ask the GP.

Hi I’ve just got home I’ve been referred to a specialist for further tests. It’s the GGT that’s abnormal again the same as last time. She showed me on the chart it’s nowhere near as bad last time it was near the top. Apparently after I was unwell 10 months ago and had US and MRI they should of been monitoring my Lft’s but didn’t. Thanks for asking I’ll have to wait for an appointment. xx

Well at least you have been referred now, so should get some answers hopefully :)

Bit of a worry that they should have been monitoring LFTs and haven't.

I got a letter yesterday from my Gp’s to say I’d been referred to the gastroenterology clinic. It says that they’ll contact me with an appointment in the next couple of weeks 😧

Well at least this is quick. I hope that all goes well :)
