You need to laugh or you'd cry

For the last 2 years I've been asking different gps what the red spots ( they look like a bite but completely flat and don't itch) that are all over my neck. Chest, back and arms were. To me I was convinced that they were due to an issue with my liver, although I hadn't been diagnosed with cirrhosis until july this year. They all just said they didn't know what they were but in February a locum doctor said she hadn't a clue but she'd refer me to the dermatologist. In June when I'd finally gone to see the haematologist after waiting about 12 weeks she kept asking me how much I drank to which I answered I don't drink. She didn't seem convinced. I've now been told that they're spider naevie by my gastroenterologist although they don't have "legs". I finally got the appointment for the dermatologist today, 1st of October. I'm still going to see the dermatologist as I've got a couple of raised up marks on my face plus I'll ask if there's anything I can do about the spider naevie as they're really unsightly. I've waited for this appointment for 6 months which is really far too long.

Hi

What a long time to wait. I'm itching on my right leg, it comes and goes. Think I will go to see my GP and see what he/she day. Hope your appointment goes well. Please take care. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Thanks Lynne. Hope that you can get something to stop the itching. Several years ago I had really bad itching on my lower face and neck, it was horrible because once you start scratching it just gets worse doesn't it? Plus being on my face and neck I would leave scratch marks. It was always worse at night in bed. I only used non bio detergent and hadn't changed face wash etc then I noticed I was scratching my wrists and I suddenly thought I spray perfume on my neck and wrists so I started to only spray it on my clothes and shortly after the itching stopped 😊 my friend had a serious liver problem with both of her pregnancies and she said the itching was horrendous. After each pregnancy the liver issue stopped. Deb x

Alha lipoic acid. Buy it from a health food store, any health food/vitamin shoppe. Seriously saved my sanity from, at least, the horrendous itching. Reducing sodium/salt helped, too. Hope you feel much better soon.

Hi, for the naevi, just go see a good beautician. A friend of mine is a beautician and zaps mine with electrolysis. Pow and the buggers disappear. Bigger ones take two or three zaps. You could also use laser. I remember my mum had one on the tip of her nose (she also had this disease) - she was so embarrassed, and used to cover with makeup.

When I had drug induced hepatitis, I too had the red dots. Like petichi, red dots without the legs. This is my theory, but I know others who had liver issues and the same red dots. Doctors couldn't figure mine out mine although I alluded to the fact that they were probably liver related. As I knew the symptoms to look for. Anyway, 75% of blood from each heart beat travels through the liver. When pressure increases in the venous system it can damage small capillaries under the skin. Which can cause small traces of blood to become trapped under the skin causing small red dots. Again, this is just my theory, but I have spent a lot of time doing research regarding this topic. The red dots never went away for me even after the drug induced hepatitis resolved. However, I havent sent any new ones since. It's sad when you beg for doctors to figure out what's going on for years and it gets blown off and then becomes a large issue down the road. I also hate how many physicians blow off a fatty liver as if it isn't a big deal.

It can really mean so mamy things. Low platelets.. dermitits .You also have very fair skin which will show these marks alot more than on someone with darker skin.
