Had to laugh

I've just been watching gp's behind closed doors. This chap was chatting to the receptionist and said nothing downstairs works anymore as I'm diabetic. The receptionist just muttered " I wish my 'usband were diabetic" priceless πŸ˜‚. And while we're talking about doctors and receptionists where is this surgery? They're all really friendly and nice, not like the Rottweilers at my gp surgery 😠

Hi

How are you feeling tonight?,

It made me smile too. It's in Bradford, I only know because it's my son's girlfriend's practice. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

My fibromyalgia is horrendous at the moment Lynne. How are you? Take care. Deb

in reply to GrandmaDylan

Yes, mine too. I only sorted some washing out this morning and I had to grab hold of furniture until I could get to a chair. The same thing happened when I did a bit of vacuuming. Do you think it's liver related , my fibromyalgia or a bit of both. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Maybe they are all "friendly & nice" because of something called TV Cameras hovering about?

I love that programme, nothing like our drs either. Have to wait ages to get appointment it's nothing to have to press redial 130 times before even gets answered and when answered all appointments gone how can that be and it's only 815am

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ we are south east England it's awful don't seem to be able to cope with all the people wanting to see a dr, yet still taking on more residents. Real shame

Well two days ago I repeatedly rang my drs 207 times to get through before it connected as user busy got thro receptionist said no appointments available it was an emergency app as I had searing pain in left shoulder pressure pains in chest she tells me dr would contact me within the hr. But seconds after I had text saying I had app within 40 mins went down receptionist bellowed my name I went over n she said what are you doing here you are meant yo be at home waiting for dr to call u. This was said very loudly in front of a busy waiting room I told her that I was given a text, well that was a mistake she said. No apology I went home. Got a phone call from my dr who after examining me is sending me for ultrasound I just have to wait for phone all from hospital has started me on nexium. Praying this helps my reflux as other tablets haven't helped at all. Some of these receptionists need to have some manners

Wow. That is terrible treatment. I once rang the doctors with similar symptoms. I was told that the nurse would ring me back to triage whether I needed an appointment or not. After telling her my symptoms she said I should call an ambulance immediately! I told her that I wasn't having a heart attack and I thought it was probably Hpylori as I'd previously had the exact same symptoms. She wasn't happy but I was adamant I wasn't going to the hospital. Things should be discussed privately with the receptionist not shouted out in front of a waiting room full of patients. I hope you feel better soon. Deb

Oh really I have heard the word hpylori if I've got it right I think that can cause stomach probs I'm hoping to get ultrasound very soon and must admit I'm now getting worried and imagining all sorts fear of the unknown

in reply to Pussycat432

That’s because you have to ring at 0800😁. I use 2 phones simultaneously- tobesure tobesure 😁.

Patients not residents πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The Dr's appear to actually know something about their patients and their past problems indicating a good Dr/patient relationship which doesn't exist at my practice as you very rarely see the same Dr twice. The practice rely heavily on locums so once you've explained your complex health history you have already used 7 minutes of your allocated 10 minute slot and they're gearing up to herd you out of the door!

in reply to Sydney04

Hahaha sydney. How true is that. I don’t even know who β€œmy” doctor is.
