Normal ALT and AST is 50 and below. Those numbers would normally represent extreme liver damage and failure. What are your drs saying?

Thanks for replying. Nothing yet my GP said make an non urgent appointment. I left a message with my hospital contact yesterday. I have rung them again this morning. I didn't have my tpn feed last night as I believe that could be the cause. I cannot eat at present so rely on tpn. Really worried.

Hi dawny, I don't mean to pry but what underlying condition do you have that requires the Total Parenteral Nutrition? Could this condition be the reason for your inflated liver numbers? Certainly liver inflammation numbers as high as yours require more urgent investigation as the longer your liver is inflamed to that degree the more likely it is to sustain damage as the liver tries to heal itself.

Hope you get some answers from your medical team a.s.a.p.

Katie

I have a on going small bowel problem and if I eat I get diarrhoea and sickness. Have not eaten since February. I am awaiting a follow up appointment with St Mark's. I am hoping that they can do something surgical to cure the problem. They have talked about surgery, I spent 6 week's in there earlier in the year. I don't drink alcohol but I do take pain killers for my spine and arthritis in many joints. I have never had high liver readings before. Have got to have more bloods on the 27th, hoping the numbers have improved.

Thank you for your message Katie

When you have liver problems do you get pain under your right ribs? Feeling so tired is that normal?
