Can anyone give any insight as to how they were diagnosed with cirhosis with similar habit pattern to mine.....my Larming symptoms continue to mount yet the doctors refuse to acknowledge it is cirhosis...I have nausea, loss of appetite, liver pain, red palms, white nails, minor confusion, dark urine, light stools...the list is endless....based on my relatively normal blood results and clear ultrasound, MRI and fibroscan over 10 doctors including 3 liver specialists have said I don't have cirhosis yet I feel as though I am at end stage.... I feel like garbage....has anyone also had similar experiences with doctors constantly misdiagnosing?sorry for the long post

First off I hope you have quit drinking second you should be very happy as you are fortunate to have seen 3 liver specialist as there are many people with confirmed liver diseases that have to wait months/ years to see a specialist. I'm not sure what you want from your question you have had all the proper tests MRI/fibroscan again you are fortunate to have recived such great care. Your symptoms are concerning but it appears it's not your liver so you should focus on finding another cause. I'm not a doctor but if I were your I would trust on of the many you have seen and be greatfull you dodge a bullet with your liver. Don't drink and move on.

Good luck

Hey Boone thankyou for replying...I guess the short question I was asking was youre liver disease able to be diagnosed with scans and bloods??

in reply to Teds123

I had a questionable ultrasound and a fibroscan that indicated some stiffness so yes the tests showed some problems but I'm relying on the doctors and believe I have stopped drinking in time to save my health. Just be healthy and don't drink

Hi Teds,

Your symptoms can have a variety of causes. What makes you think it’s your liver. The liver has no pain receptors so you can’t feel pain from it. You can get pain in that general area though. I’m not a doctor but 3 liver specialists said you don’t have it so I don’t understand? Cirrhosis is a terrible disease to live with. Have they told you that you have a fatty liver?

It looks to me that you will try every doctor until you find one to agree with you?

I hope I’m wrong.

Cheers,

Brett

Hi Brett I gues what I am in shorthand trying to ask is whether these scans and bloods can miss end stage liver disease.....the rest is pure frustration at declining Health. Guess

No they can’t miss, if it was one test or scan you had then I’d say possibly but with all the scans and bloods and 3 liver doctors I’d say your liver is about as well as could be so lucky you👍 do you drink?bad diet?over weight?lack excercise any of these can make you ill

Pancreatitis as well as other organ malignancies can have the same symptoms. Maybe they need to check for other things
