Hi everyone: Hi there just wanted to... - British Liver Trust
Hi everyone
Hi there and welcome. I am new on here also. I have fatty liver and due my annual bloodwork but am sure it won't be good. Scary road. There are loads of people on here that know what they are talking about. I will be taking their advice. Glad you are feeling well - that is the way to go.

Hi Mags ! Sorry to hear about your diagnosis but great news you feel well. Best way to look after your liver is to avoid drinking alcohol eat a low fat no added sugars and get plenty of fresh air and exercise balanced with plenty of rest. Avoid stressful situations where possible, and be happy ๐ ๐

Ps. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg too

Hi Mags and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Iโm glad your keeping well. Laura has given you plenty of good advice there. Itโs important to look after yourself. Iโve had cirrhosis for 3 years now and Iโm on the list, but some people live with it for much longer and manage to stay relatively healthy. Take care
Welcome mags,
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis but you have taken the first and most very very important thing and that is to stop drinking so well done
I have been living with cirrhosis 10 yrs in June, i am not on any transplant list as yet, but i do see my hepatologist every 6 months or when needed,
My diet became a big turn around. Low sodium, high protein to start with, chicken, fish, lentils, loads of veg and fruit etc.. i am taking thiamine and b12 extra strong compound,
I do have osteopenia in my hip and two prolapsed discs middle to lower back so i am.in pain most days.

Hello Mags and welcome to our group.
You will find here, a wealth of knowledge and experience from those with their own liver disease or of supporting others with the illness.
I'm assuming that you are in the UK, so you might have a look at the British Liver Trust website and see if there are any support groups near to where you live. The website is also a brilliant source of information about living with liver disease and giving yourself a chance to live well despite your condition.
Take care,
Jim
Hi mags72 I have not been on here to long , but the people who are on here are wonderful in helping you with any questions or concerns. I have Chrosis and without this group I would not have any support. Welcome aboard.
