Fatty liver test name

Hello,I have an itching due to fatty liver,does anybody knows which test I mean medical name should I check or make?

Sorry to hear that. I believe severity of itching does not reflect severity of liver problem, so that might be reassuring to you.

I may be wrong on this but I’m fully aware most liver problems cause itching but I’m under the impression that it is quite uncommon for fatty liver disease alone to cause itching, and for many people they develop itching AFTER they read about how liver diseases can cause itching (i.e psychosomatic). That, of course, doesn’t make it any less uncomfortable or distressing but just gives an indication that a different approach could be used to help.

Anyway, your GP should give you blood tests to check liver function, and an ultrasound. Best of luck

No problem. I can’t give medical advice so it’s best to speak to your GP. But as far I believe, fatty liver disease causes liver inflammation.

Liver cirrhosis causes severe itching everywhere. Are u sure ur not just itching in general or is it really bad?

U need to have liver function blood tests etc and an ultrasound scan to check ur liver. Dont let them just do liver blood test as it is not reliable. I had normal liver function and told them to scan me they said didnt need scan cos test all normal lol. Load of crap ended up havin scan in end which showed fatty liver. Im lucky as i can reverse it
