How long?

Well here we are 16 months after being told that a transplant is needed I never for one moment thought it would be this long, I realise there isn’t enough organs to go round and you need Lady Luck at times and of course priority must go to those critically ill but still I thought I would be ok.

Had one call but it wasn’t meant to be that was 7 weeks ago and now every thing has changed regards the list I’ve got clinic tomorrow so will try and find out where I stand and will let you all know what I can find out regards the changes

All the best

Huw

Good luck for tomorrow. I emailed my doctor he said he wants me TX’d ASAP. But we shall see. I’ve made the 18 month mark now so who knows. Next 6 months maybe? X

Hi Huw, I wish you all the best for tomorrow. I hope you can get clear answers and an understanding of what has changed. I'm not clear why there are changes going on in the UK regarding the transplant list. I had my transplant in Canada. I have Nothing but positive positive energy sending your way. Keep your HOPE strong!! Good luck !!

Good Luck Huw. You’ve waited a long time. Not sure about the changes to the system, was going to ask myself when I go to clinic next week. Will be interested to hear what they say

That's a long wait. My brother has been on the list since the start of the year and everytime his phone rings he thinks this is it. He got the call last month but liver wasn't perfect enough to transplant. If it wasn't for this forum I wouldn't have known about the national register now, he's not received the letter that others have. We have his next appointment this week and hopefully they'll be able to tell us about it. I hope your call will come soon.

I wish you all well and hope it happens soon for you, the only good thing to look at is you cannot be too bad or you would have been done my wife was on the list for about three months before she got her transplant and that was the fourth call before the right one was found

You might have been told before it is the best thing that can happen to you the day after her transplant I walked in to her room and asked where my wife was she looked 10 years younger the next day she is now 2 years after transplant and is so much better

It will happen and I know it is not easy but sit back relax and let it come to you
