Pre Assessment question

Hi everyone,

I hope your all doing well.

As mentioned in my previous post, I have my pre assessment on Tuesday for my incisional hernia operation. Saw Surgeons in February and confirmed my hernia was around 8cm x 8cm and it has got even bigger since then!!!

I obvs had the 3 day assessments for my liver transplant assessment before I was listed but I’ve never had an actual pre op. An you let me know what I should expect? Told me it will take 1.5 hours with bloods, height, weight, BP etc.

I’ll ask the usual questions about operation, time in hospital (told will be 5-7 days), recovery etc.

Any advice appreciated.

Also sending a separate post now about the dreaded PIP claim

You are going through it aren't you? Good luck with everything.

I sent my pip form off on 22nd March. Told me they had received it but I might need a face to face. I've got Nash, fibromyalgia, osteopenia which they think will end up osteoporosis!! I feel rotten at the moment but I know there I people worse off than me. Take care Lyñne xx

Blimey Sherri44, you really have had a tough time lovely 😔 it was so nice to hear from you. I hope this firm help you get everything you are entitled to and your wrist and shoulder repair and heal quickly.

I’m all done now with my pre op and hope to have my operation done end of June/beginning of July once my twins have finished their GCSEs. It’s stressful having 2 doing exams at the same time but I need to be Mummy and be there for my boys through their exams and then sort out my hernia.

You had a terrible experience and it’s has frightened me a bit but I can’t leave mine as it is as causes so much pain and discomfort.

Take care sweetie xxxx
