CT scan tomorrow

This isn't a question. I have my CT scan tomorrow and I'm a nervous wreck...that's why I'm awake at 2:21 am (eastern standard time USA)on this site. I also had 6 week bloodwork yesterday since it came back really bad 6 weeks ago. I've drastically changed my eating, no alcohol, processed foods or simple carbs. Just veggies, lots of veggies, meats and cheese. I was never much of a drinker so that isn't too bad. Such a shock to know my liver could scar from eating..

I'm just posting because the scan will allow them to see more. The US could see scarring and enlargement but the liver was too large and scarred to see the pancreas and other organs. I've been having some very mild pain under my right rib, often after I eat. Also right sided mid back pain that I particularly notice when I lie down. Makes it hard to change positions when I sleep. Gallbladder maybe? Hoping it's that and nothing worse.

Soooo worried but have to get up in a few hours for work so I'm gonna try to sleep. Just keep thinking my life could change tomorrow. This scan was ordered on Dec 6, took all this time to be approved. Welcome to America.

Lara,

I'd say don't worry because it wont help but clearly you have had a restless night. Ordering scans here can be just a longer wait like you have depending on the requirements, the hospital visited etc. I know you say your like might change today, however 4 and a half years ago I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, portal vein thrombosis and blood cancer and I am still working full time. I take a fair few medications to help me live as normal as possible, I have adjusted my life for the better.

Please keep us informed. You will be ok regardless of the outcome. Human beings are amazing creatures that can ride the waves on any storm!

Hi Lara

How did things go? Like you eating has caused a lot of my liver problems nafld and cirrhosis. Although the consultant seems to vary on this as fibroscan says yes, ultrasound days no. I have tried to change my diet and it has helped although I have slipped back recently. Stress eating is why I have slipped and the cold weather. But my last bloods after 6 months of being good showed improvement.

Best of luck and keep us posted

So sorry to hear you are so worried. This i am afraid is the only way to find out what is wrong and the sooner the Dr's know what is wrong the sooner they can treat you. Good luck and keep us informed as we do care

Thanks for asking. I haven't had it yet. I'm in the USA and it's about 5:am. My scan is at 9:30. I won't know anything probably until next week since it's Friday. I'll post once I know.

I will never get used to the time difference. My niece goes Madagascar end of the month goodness knows where I'll be trying to keep in touch with her when she is on line.

Fingers and toes crossed things are positive for you.
