First of all I must pay tribute to the health service here in Goa. I saw a physio at the Ayurvedic Clinic here yesterday morning and by 6 pm I'd seen THE top orthopaedic consultant in Goa, if not all of India. I was examined, xrayed and out in half an hour. Diagnosis: osteoporosis (alcohol and tobacco related obvs.) and spinal scoliosis. After bloods, which will happen on Monday, I'll take the reports and xrays back to England and get my left hip replaced as a matter of urgency (via Benenden Health). The whole lot, including vitamin supplements, cost me £26!
BUT today, after all the pushing and pulling about, every bone in my body hurts like hell. I've taken one paracetamol which has helped a little. Sometimes the pain is so great it's a case of sod the liver I need pain relief. Then, to add insult to injury, I developed a bladder infection!
I don't normally do self-pity but right now I could scream and shout and throw things! And it's very early days - 9 months diagnosed and 12 sober.
Sorry - just had to get that off my chest!
Love to all of you out there x
