Pain ignored

Since going into severe liver failure 3 Utd ago after being allergic to a prescribed drug I have recovered well enough to return to work, only part time as I do suffer with chronic fatigue. I am constantly in RUQ pain when breaking and also the area is very tender to tough. I cannot lie flat on my back or on my right side. I have tried everything pain killer wise including nerve blocks. I’m scans show nothing and my liver consultant says the pain is not liver pain. I’m at the end of my teather as I’ve now had to stop work because it’s too painful and on morphine to help with the pain. Anyone else had this pain? X

I get pain but I am pretty sure my pain is caused from enlarged lymp nodes . Thats my take. When I have increased abdominal pain I have noticed that when ever I have a scan for pain it shows enlarged lymph nodes in the abdomen. Not sure if that helps.

Hi

My consultant said my pain is due to my liver being so big it's causing the capsule around it to stretch and that is what is causing my pain. Take care xxxx

Is your pain always in the same spot? Where about do you have your pain?

in reply to Marydel63

Hi

My pain is around my liver area, through to my back, around shoulder and shoulder blades, also through to abdomen and then around spleen. Consultant said some of it is referred pain, all very painful.

I’ve had nerve blocks which were useless, and on my recent visit the day there’s is nothing they can do but refer me a psychologist because of my low mood x

Hi, thank you all for your reply’s, my pain is mostly underneath my rIn cage on the right hand side, round the back and also shooting pains up through my shoulder like a burning rod is bring poked through from the top of my shoulder down. The pain in my side gets so severe it’s like I’m being stabbed. It also gets very very tender across my abdomen, I’m currently on morphine but I don’t want to be on it forever and I’ve tried everything else 😞 I want to stay at work but at the moment I can’t manage the pain enough to be able to x

Hi

You sound very similar to me, it's horrible isn't it? It feels like an invisible illness. I'm very lucky to have such a good support network. Please take care. Lots of love Lynne xxxx

Thank you. It just really gets me down and my consultant say this has nothing to do with my liver! So it feels like It’s in my head. Take care too, thanks for your reply x

I’ve been going with my mum everytime, think it’s time I asked for another opinion xx

in reply to Laurs3333

Yes, good idea. I write down everything I want to ask because once we are in there things are easily forgotten. I'm easily confused as well at the moment xxxx
