Hello all. I had a liver transplant at the RIE two years ago and after a few

problems with Hep C and CMV I think I'm finally what I would consider healthy.

I got rid of the Hep C last Summer and I think that made all the difference.

Welcome aboard Tradscot, glad you are doing well.

My hubby is also a patient at Edinburgh plus Ayr - he was listed for transplant June 2014 but delisted after 10 months as his bloods improved thereby taking him out of criteria for t/p. Still remains under the very watchful eye of the wonderful Dr Blair.

Thanks for saying hello. Having been in and out of the RIE

sometimes in for longer than expected, I cannot fully express

my gratitude and admiration for all the staff at the RIE. They

saved my life and continue to monitor my progress. Not

forgetting my saviour, my donor, and the system that made my

survival possible. I owe them all an impossible debt I can only

repay by living as decent a life as I can. I hope your husband

continues in his good health and along with myself takes

comfort in the knowledge there are good people and

organisations with the skills and humanity to take care of us

when we need them.

Hi tradscot, I also received my transplant at RIE just over 2 years ago, probably passed each other at clinic appointments 😃😃

Hi Kate50, we probably have passed each other. I'm still going

for monthly appointments but hopefully I'll soon be on a yearly

check-up as all of the complications have cleared up. I hope

you're doing as well as me.

Hello again, I’m not doing too bad much better than before transplant and I’m still here to tell the tale so can’t complain, I get shared care between Glasgow royal and Edinburgh but usually see dr Simpson at the outreach clinic in Glasgow, I’m having issues with my kidneys at the moment so Prograf has been reduced to see if it helps, glad you are doing well, take care of yourself 🌸🌸
