Hi dave, welcome to the forum. Like you i have nafld, also dr not very helpful, there are a lot in the same boat! I am on 6 monthly blood tests and sent on my merry way with little information other than to keep to a healthy weight and stick to alcohol units(14 a week). With regards to symptoms i think they vary person to person, some people may have none. Me personally it was extreme fatigue and feeling generally crap that sent me to the dr. There is some good advice on the british liver trust website on how to look after yourself regarding diet and things and it is reversible in most cases i believe, i am no expert though. Stick around the forum also, you will learn a lot about it from here.
Take care.

Hi Dave,
Welcome to the forum. You may find our publication on Non alcohol related fatty liver disease useful to read, here is the link;
britishlivertrust.org.uk/wp...
It details, stages, symptoms and the importance of monitoring the condition and recieiving specific guidance from your GP/ and or liver specialist.
We hope that is useful and you also find this forum a supportive place to visit,
Best wishes,
BLT
Hi dave, yes i do get a little short of breath sometimes too, feel exhausted most days and im only 33! As for the risk factors,im not sure on all of them. Mine is down to being a bit overweight and not looking after myself properly. Do you have a lot of sugar in tea/coffee or sweet things? Sugar is the devil as your liver turns it into and stores it as fat so ive read. It is in lots of foods you wouldnt think too. Like i said im no expert but that might be worth cutting down on if you have it a lot.
