50 miles for the Listening Lodges

50 miles for the Listening Lodges

I picked up a t-shirt from Kings College Hospital that I'll be wearing on my 50 mile sponsored bike ride in a month time.

Many of you on here who attend Kings may be aware of the Listen Lodges, they are an invaluable resource to both patients and families of patients who need to stay at the hospital for treatment or assessment.

Hi Jim, it's the 50 mile course on this page dorset-bike-ride.co.uk/rout...

It starts and finishes in Bovington, goes to Corfe Castle, then almost to Blandford. The distance isn't my concern, it's some of those hills. I'll need all the encouragement I can get.

Corfe is a lovely place and not too far from Bognor Regis.

For every uphill there is also the downhill - that thought should keep you going.

Thanks. Like I said, I'm going to need all the encouragement I can get ☺️.

I did do a 50 mile ride about 10 or so years ago before transplant, it was hard but I was on a mountain bike, my roadie will make it a big easier. I've also done a bit of training for this one.

Well all I can say is that the liver transplant must have done you the world of good and it gives much hope to those currently awaiting one (thankfully I'm not in this category). That you can achieve something like this after a transplant must be inspiring to those people reading this board :)

Thanks Lynne. It won't be easy but it's a challenge and the training is keeping me fit. So it's a win win because I also raise some money for a great cause.
