Hello, I did an interview with NHS organ donation a few months ago. They have just put it up on their Facebook page. Hopefully the link works.

Thank you

Really good interview Jahida. I recognise so much from what you described, and I got quite emotional watching. I think for anyone with small kids (mine were 7 and 9 at the time) it's really the driving force behind your determination to get well. Like you, there were so many times I thought I'd never leave the hospital and being in the health I am now is a true miracle.

I never told my kids how ill I was before transplant, and I ended up in hospital a couple of times. When they came to visit me it was so tough trying not to fall apart, and like you when they left I would let it all out.

Thanks Jahida.

Your story bought all the emotion back as I remembered the months leading up to my transplant.

Good stuff.

Bless you. M

Thank you both! The emotions! I wasn't expecting to cry but when you have to relive those moments especially with me where I came from being healthy to some nightmare....it's scary. RodeoJoe just like yourself, my children were my motivation. I was battling so many emotions during that time but I tried with all I had to not break down. Mind you from January to march there was no diagnosis. It still upsets me that the GP thought all of it was in my head. I had a day where I was close to suicide because no one around me believed what I was going through. Liver failure can cause some very scary symptoms. Once the diagnosis came I didn't care....I was relieved! Of course then the battle was to face a life and death situation.

Nutrimar thank you! Life isn't easy for some of us! I'm glad we are here to tell our story.

Regards

Jahida

Dear Jahida,

What a wonderful film! I am sure it will encourage many people to consider going on the organ donation transplant register.

I have been on it since I was 18 - much older now! But really only realised what it meant when we went through my husband's transplants.

Thank you for sharing! Also, being so brave and sharing your story with the wider world.

Yours truly,

Pear
