Was wondering if anyone else gets pins and needles in hands or feet and is it related to having liver problems??

Omg yes !! All the time. Even in my left leg I have burning sensations and at times a numb Tongue , I recently had an electrode test done to see if I had nerve problems and they came back negative?? So now I am well confused as I know I'm not dreaming these sensations. The hospital did say if it continues Bearing in mind I have had this since January to go back . I am due to see my hepetologist next Tuesday so I am going to raise the question then. Thank God im.not the only one .☺

Hiya millie09 thanks for replying. I most certainly know how you feel, most days I feel like I'm going crazy. For a while I lost sensation in 2 of my toes and then it returned back to normal feeling but didn't think anything of it really until I started having cramp and pins and needles else where. Yes I would raise the question to your hepetologist.

Your very welcome. I just had to reply to your post as I thought it was me going crazy! Night time is terrible, heat seems to affect it a lot I have noticed. If it has been a cold evening after warming up my bed with an electric blanket then both my hands start off and on constantly rubbing them. I suffer with my sleep as it is. I will defantley raise this next week and if I have any answers I will let you know.

Millie09 you are definitely not going crazy haha! Thank you very much, yes I have the same problem exactly, also find I tend to be cold constantly and it does make it worse. Fingers crossed it's not another thing to worry about

Poor toes. I had one on each foot disappear for a while. They're back but now if I stand for too long I get an horrible pain along the tops of my toes. Not cold in myself but poor feet down there feel frozen although if I touch them they don't ever feel particularly cold. My post bunion op is unmentionable .Lol x. Feet ay who'd have them. (A joke) !! Sorry I'm waffling, waiting to be picked up to go for my 6 monthly scan so am a bit hyper.

I'm not sure if I have a liver problem yet (long story 🙄).

But I suffer incredibly. But I should find out more on the 10th.

in reply to Mummymoors85

Awh I hope it's nothing serious Mummymoors85 it can be very worrying when you don't know what's exactly wrong, went through the same waiting game as you for weeks before knowing what exactly was wrong with lots of different scans, tests biopsies etc. Best thing to do is try and stay positive through it all

How does it feel when you hands or feet go to sleep "lack of blood flow" severe cirrhosis can cause "portal hypertension" which is partially cut off blood supply of artery going through liver but that's just an educated guess, "I cant bother doc bout everything"$$ plus with my cirrhosis it seems like there's something new coming and going all the time

I don't have any idea as to weather this is due to end stage liver disease but I will know more when I see my hepetologist next Tuesday; yes I agree papad, I have had several changes since January and not good either; but you should never hold back from asking your consultant or gp as they have a duty of care.

Hi,

The sensation of pins and needles can be a sign of a wide range of health conditions, therefore it would be advisable to go to your own GP and discuss it with them,

Best wishes,

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca, I already did that and my results came back negative yet I am still having the same symptoms. The letter from.my dr did state if it was still a problem to go see him so that is what I am doing next Monday and I will also mention this with my hepetologist next Tuesday 😊

Yes although not until after transplant and issues with hot and cold - not being able to tell the difference. Several investigations have revealed that it could be due to the immune suppressants I now take.

I get it sometimes and when I asked my doctor, he told me not to worry

But there must be something causing the pins and needles, and I get burning in my left foot and a numb tongue too 🤔..

You are not the only one with that mystery; I am also in that ordeal. The doctor might help

I have had nerve tests that have come back negative but I will ask my liver consultant Tuesday. It really is annoying isn't it 🙂

Hope you are ok 😊 best wishes linda

Hi

My Dr said pins and needles could also be due to fibromyalgia which I've recently been diagnosed with!! Hope everyone is as well as can be expected. Please take care. Lots of love Lynne xxxx

I've just read the post about numb/tingly tongue. I was dx PBC Nov 2016. I also experience bouts of numb/tingly tongue and did wonder if it was PBC related. I also seem to have a dodgy thermostat. Ranging from hot sweats to really cold.
