Stupid Question...

So no question is a stupid question....I beg to differ!! Questions I have been met with over the past few weeks;

Have you not had your transplant yet?

Can you just have a bit of an animals liver?

Have you been given a date yet for your transplant?

Do you really need you liver?

....does make me giggle - I get we are experts in our own illnesses but I am surprised at what people don't know.

Anyway, I hope your all doing splendidly!

Chelle :-) x

Yes....even when I was accepted on to the transplant list the nurse mentioned to me how well I looked...in fact he mentioned it a few time to the point my other half got annoyed with him!

Yep ! I get that " oh you look really well " upon telling my eldest son I was now in end stage cirrhosis he replied ( even at the age of 32 and a manger) oh that's ok mom you can just have a transplant then it will be ok 🤔🤔😂😂.. if only it was that easy !

Or the classic "How long do you have left?" - because obviously, anyone who has been told they don't *need* a transplant is going to die soon *eyeroll*

The most stupid question... "have you eaten all the Haribo?"

Or

"Do you want me to get you some Haribo from the shops?"

Mine is have you had your appointment come through yet for your transplant, like the nhs have refrigeration units full of organs.

Not so strange though now they can grow animals organs from stem cells.

There have also actually been PIG to HUMAN liver transplants so perhaps the person asking this particular question had heard of that. Look up 'pigs liver used in human transplant' and there are numerous stories including one in 1992 when a woman in USA had a pig liver as a 'bridge' transplant to keep her alive until a human one became available for transplant.

They are also experimenting on growing human organs from stem cells but hosted within a pig.

The research and developments which are always going on will eventually hopefully bring a 'bank' of organs. In the Liver Transplantation course on Future Learn I am sure they were looking at peoples stem cells being harvested and growing your own spare organs.

This has made me giggle. But I had a good one this week.

A wine company phoned me this week. (I've never been a big drinker)

I have a great deal if you buy 24 bottles you get 8 free.

Before the don't drink any more talk I only had a glass or 2 a week anyway so that lot would take me years to get through.

So I told the man no thank you explained the situation his response I'll phone back in 6 months you might be better then 🙄.

After the last 5 years if only!!

Not what you're looking for?
