Me Again with more questions.!

Hi, as all you lovely people know Terry had his transplant in July & is doing great.

That's what we thought but after his monthly check on Tuesday the consultant rang yesterday asking if he was okay 'cos bloods bot so good. Asked if he was taking any other meds than they supplied & if he felt ill at all. This is quite unsettling for me but he just takes it all in his stride. We have to back next week for more blood tests & a scan. Also his Adoport has to be increased. Just wondered if anyone else has been faced with this ? Probably me thinking the worst & I really won't know the full outcome 'til we go back next week.

Thanks anyway.xx

Good morning,

Concentrating on the positive - brilliant that Terry has been so well post transplant.

Getting a call like that from the consultant can make you feel pretty anxious, its only natural.

I had to have my bloods repeated by my GP just this morning. Something to do with my kidney function from my last blood results, however I feel fine and know that the minor adjustment made to my Adoport will probably have sorted it.

I see it as just another bump on the road and nothing compared to what got me to needing a transplant in the first place. ( 8 months ago )

If you can't rest with worrying, remember thats why we have transplant co-ordinators, so give them a call before they go to the on-call coordinator with the weekend coming.

Hopefully they may be able to give you some reassurance.

(why do these things always have to happen just before the weekend ?)

I'll be thinking of you both.

Take care,

Jim

Hi all. I imagine it's just trying to get all meds at the right consistency. The good thing, besides the very kind and thoughtful donor and their family is that we are heading in the right direction in recovery. If it's anything like my experience having had a transplant in march at Kings College Hospital you have got very conscientious and kind thoughtful staff from all walks of life monitoring and looking after you all the time. In my case they are there all the for no matter what or how trivial you think it is and sure this applies to everyone. Hope this helps a little and all the best

Hi, Your normal.. If he feels ok then all's ok. A lot of folk worried about me at the time of my transplant but I felt alright. Your support is his best cure, I'm sure if he feels unwell he will tell you.

glad he's feeling well. I get these calls and i don't try to dwell on them now. Had one last week reducing one of my anti rejection drugs. Had bloods since just waiting to see if everything is ok. Stay well both of you. Merry Christmas 🎄 x
