At last!!

After a false alarm I received a wake up call at 2 am a liver was being checked to make sure it was healthy, and if it was good it was mine I was to get ready and prepare as if I was going down to theatre. I went to theatre at dinner time a couple of complications transplant took 10 hours.

I got moved to normal ward today after a brief stay on I.c.u. They are very pleased with recovery had a scan to confirm liver was good and it is. And I am over the moon but exhausted xx

Great news and good Luck with everything post transplant. How long had you been waiting?

In case she's still resting and unable to give you an answer herself - Jo Jo was first assessed a year ago but had to wait for official listing as other stuff was checked & sorted out. She posted 8 months ago that she was finally added to the list so it's been a longish wait for her. Thank goodness she's finally had it and hopefully it will go well from hereonin.

Excellent news JoJo.

Hopefully a pretty quick recovery, and you'll be feeling better than you have been for years.

Best wishes for a good recovery from The British Liver Trust team.

Yay 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

What brilliant news to read that you have had your operation after being in hospital for a month. Keep getting better and recovering well my lovely.

I'm on the waiting list (only been 7 weeks) - it's great to hear of another successful transplant.

Much love, Nicki 💞

You must be recovering extremely well to post on here so soon. I couldn't even have a proper conversation with my wife, for a couple of day, too groggy with the pain killers. At this rate of recovery you should be out in less than a week. Good luck

That is wonderful news Jojo so happy for you, wishing you all the very best 😘 xxx

Hi jojo,

Hope you don't think I'm being nosey but just checking in to see how you are recovering? Understand after transplant your focus is to repair and get strong but just wanted to let you know, thinking of you. Much love. Nicki 💞

Aww thanks I am doing great actually just learning my limits lol 😁 I feel like doing everything but obviously body needs to repair, but doctors are saying I may be home by end of the week it's like wow wow.... How are you?

That's fab news that you are on the mend....slowly but surely Hun. I bet you feel fragile but I'm sure you are already noticing and feeling the difference with your health? Keep getting stronger and better.

I'm ok. hanging in there Hun. Much love. Nicki 💞

I don't feel fragile lol feel refreshed and brand new where are you from?

nickiwj profile image
nickiwj in reply tojojokarak

Oh I too hope once I have my transplant that I feel brand new again. That's amazing how great your feeling 👍🏻 I used to live in essex and now live in Suffolk (moved here in August). I'm still under Royal Free - addenbrookes would be closer but I've been under same team for 10 years and feel they know me, my symptoms etc and don't really want to start all over again. My assessments were at RF too. It's about an hour longer to get to than addenbrookes but I'm going to stick with RF now I'm on the list. I luckily see the same consultant every month, have a nurse allocated to me who calls me, emails, helps sort out routine Ultra Sound appts and even prints off my BT stickers ready to get them done before I have my consultant appt. No point changing a system that works for me I guess. Where do you live Hun?

You really do give me positive vibes that your doing so well as to be honest, I'm sooo scared of the operation 😩

Was it hard to become mobile and sit up after the transplant? Does your scar hurt?

Hope you get to go home soon 🍀

Stay in touch x

bless you. I promise now those are out you will feel so much better. Less restrictions the better. I thought i had followed you but must have had a moment but i have now. Hope that's ok with you? Wanna check on your recovery. You have done so well recovering. Keep it up. Feet up and listen to what your body needs. I really am so happy for you. Praying 🙏🏻 for healing and comfort. I found a squishy cushion the roll ones with lil beads in my best friend. I was able to get comfortable sitting or sleeping by moving it sometimes even putting it between my knees it took the pressure off my stomach a lot. Sorry rambling. Lots of gentle hugs and love to you xxx
