Thank's To Everyone That Replied To My Post : Dose Anyone Know.

Well I dived in head first and popped my first OMEPRAZOLE stomach tablet .. Within hour of doing so I had killer headache that lasted hole day THEN I had bouts of breathlessness.

But did I know that was nothing to chest back pain I would suffer THOUGHT I was havering Heart Attack.

Anyway I quickly realised I was not "as pain stopped on breathing in" but still enough to make you sweat.

My second thought was these pills going to cause infection as my chest is bad anyway AND as I am on regular antibiotics for my lung condition.

Then am going end up with pneumonia as my chest breathing was that bad ... that with out bout's funky liver pain.

To finish with I ended up constipated ... I guess I will need something for that SO I have decided to pass on second dose of OMEPRAZOLE.

Thanks for all comments on my previous post sorry could not reply idervidualy cheers n thanks.

You sound like you had a panic attack.  Think your stressing about the tablets.  Your doctor has prescribed them for a reason and you should speak to them before stopping any medication.

Hi Jeff, I was taking famotidine (pepcid),  last week every day for acid reflux.  It's similar to omeprazole.  After I would take it, my heart would start pounding.  Didn't pay too much mind to it. After a couple days, I cut down from two a day to one. On Friday,  I had an appointment to go to. Didnt think I was going to be able to go. Not only was my heart pounding, I felt all the blood rush to my arms and legs. Never felt so panicky in my life! Pepcids are the pill they consider safe enough for pregnant women! ! I've never had a panic attack before. I was going to try the omeprazole tomorrow. Maybe not?   I know a lot of members take them.Don't know what we can take! Let me know, if you figure it out.😊 Rubyxx

Hi Rubyred777 Defo Know how you felt ... Am at doc's tomorrow ONE of the reasons I stopped taking them was chest pain and my spo2 sats was dropping with lung congestion.

Can't have that with me already suffering from lung disease.

See which one the Dr. recommends,  Jeff. One thing I know for sure, I stopped the pill and got no more pounding heartbeat. I also have copd. Somehow I answered you on this site.😊.  What stage are you? I am moderate. Fev 1 of 60.  Good luck. Let me know what Dr. says.              Rubyxx 😊

Hi cheers doctors wont tell me in case i have painc attack THINK from scan results got less than one lung.

Doctors told me i wont survive bout pneumonia again THAT shocked me as i was never told i had even had it befour.

Will let you know what bead shakers lol recomend

JeffAjaxSmith the tablets only inhibit stomach acid production to make things easier on the digestive system.  Long term use, say 20 years can have an affect not one pill.

I think you are stressing too much.  I took then for a while after having the same fears that you did (liver) and I was fine.  I regretted not taking them sooner because they really helped with my Gastritis

My husband didn't have noticeable acid reflux it was a horrendous pain after eating (he would sweat, have serious chest pain and be physically bent double) particularly acid foods - coleslaw, tomato sauces on pasta, orange juice and anything citrus, pickles etc.  He has never experienced the same thing since taking Omeprazole and cutting out these food stuffs.

I seriously doubt that omeprazole caused your weird reaction but I am not a a doctor and don't know what else you have going on medically.

My hubby has portal hypertensive gastritis of the stomach lining and fundus and was also suffering from varices in his oesophagus.

No side effects at all from Omeprazole.  Sounds like something more you need to check with doctors.

I understand why someone would be prescribed omeprazole for stomach but why do they prescribe  omeprazole in liver patients because when you research it, it can be quite damaging to the liver. My consultant hasn't prescribed me any and I was surprised to learn that it's prescribed regularly in liver patients.

i take these twice a day for acid. They have worked well for me and have helped with my gastritis far better than any of the others I've taken
