I'd be lying if I said you will be fine!!! Although you may surprise yourself! Don't think I could do it so you are already one step ahead of me. Lol! However, good for you going out. I only go drs, hospital. Take us with you on your phone and keerp in touch while you're there, I would!!!

I'm sorry that you don't go out much mellow.

I don't either tbh, but have to tomorrow.

I'll take my phone and see if I can send a picture :)

Hope you sleep well

Brill! Can't wait! Got any plans tomorrow daytime? I'm trying to build up to the exercises I wanted to do today bit fell asleep because I was in pain. Big brother is occupying me now. Are you onto it? I haven't really been before but TV seems to be a big part of my days at the mo!

Support is great, but for some (many of us) medicine is essential. I would love to lose it but can't!

Hi Mellow

How you doing today? Unfortunately i spent yesterday in hospital, but not for me, for my mother. Shes having kidney issues.

Dont really like big brother anymore but used to love it.

And Hi Mike, you are almost famous to me. I read your story on the website quite some time ago.

I hope you are also well.

Hi matt. Sorry about your mum. Is she home now? How did your night go?

Hi mellow

Yes the night went ok, managed Becks Blue all night so i did very well. Pleased with myself.

Unfortunatley shes still in KGH, ill be visiting later.

She has fluid build up caused by lack of kidney function.

Now theyve found 'a mass' near her kidneys that needs more investigation.

My scans are tomorrow so all in all, not a great week.

Still... chin up and carry on!

How are you?

in reply tomatt137

I'm not too bad, thanks, been quite confused, dazed and forgetful last few days.

Well done!!!!!! You're stronger than what you think. Went out for an hour yesterday, when I got back I felt as though I was in hell. I felt so poorly.

Need to begin benefits claims as I can't work. Can you help with any knowledge or advise? I don't know where to start.

Good to hear from you.

Im sorry that youre so unwell, it must be really tough.

Take a look at this web link...

gov.uk/pip/how-to-claim

Disability benefit is replaced with a PIP, Personal Independant Payment.

If you speak to the Dept of work and pensions on the phone number shown they should send you some forms.

Im not sure of the eligibility criteria but its worth a try :)

There is also Employment and Support Allowance which is a payment when you are unable to work and you may also be eligible to apply for this.

My husband receives both ESA (Support Group) and PIP (Enhanced Daily Living, Basic Rate Mobility) but it does all depend on how ill you are, how long you have been ill, projected length of illness, personal income circumstances, savings etc.

Worth looking into both benefits. With Income Related ESA it also brings other benefits in that you can then perhaps claim housing benefit if that is applicable to yourself, also help with travel costs for hospital appointments, free prescriptions etc.

ESA benefits procedure is at :- gov.uk/employment-support-a...

What a great nights sleep im going to have tonight!

in reply tomatt137

REALLY thinking of you. At least you will know quicker. Please make sure you have someone with you. They will probably confirm diagnosis and give you advise. Think of it this way, after tomorrow your body will be treated for what it clearly is crying out for . thinking of you.

Sorry Mellow but without medicine I do not think many people would survive. I'm grateful for the medicines otherwise transplanted patients wouldn't survive!

in reply toJahida

Yes, I agree and am very grateful for my medicines but sometimes taking so many a day can be an upsetting reminder of what has happen my body which is when my husband's support and from you guys be 'the best medicine'

Yes it is hard. After a transplant you have many more especially at the beginning. Medicine will help you feel better and support will help you through that sad journey too.

It is complicated. There are days of course I'd love to not have any medications. I fell ill suddenly. I went from a healthy person without any health problems to a sudden life changing few months. This time last year I was a normal healthy person. This time this year I am trying to survive the scars and pain of the ordeal.

You will get there. Are you awaiting a transplant?

in reply toJahida

Thank you replying as I have been worrying. I really didn't mean to offend you or anyone. Not needing transplant yet but I really want to be aware of further symptoms as my cirrhosis came on suddenly too. im at last stage. Been really off this last week. Have you any tips of what to look out for. Endoscopy next week. Waiting for urine test results as it has gone dark again and only weeing small amounts.

I know but I feel those already feeling depressed from taking medications and then reading this message might feel even worse. There are people who suffer from depression and anxiety due to this journey.

My story is a little different in that I was never unwell. I had a normal liver before I suffered from acute liver failure. I fell ill suddenly and very quickly.

I had encephalopathy, very high INR, sickness, jaundiced, drowsiness. I was put on the super urgent listing because I had very few days to live. So for me, I came from a healthy state to near death very very quickly. I was in hospital for a few months.

I do hope someone can help you here. What have they said about transplant?

in reply toJahida

Hi jahida. How are you today?

in reply toJahida

Thank you for yr blog. Bless you. You give me strength. Yr family sound great. I have lost a lot of mine due to all this. I haven't got my boys with me at the mo, I'm too ill and not enough income anymore to look after them. they're with their Dad. I miss them unbelievably, it's heart breaking.

Take care

Just read your 'support is the best medicine' post. That was popular.

I've had enough support on here to make me want to do a Robs wife and leave and tell the CEO why. If you see a bye post, which I'll do after speaking to social worker dont be suprised but I'll keep messaging the many 'friends' Ive made after being on here a year. Sorry you couldn't e mail me your number as promised after you asking me for mine and wanting to speak straight away and that you couldn't maintain contact with me. Be happy Clare

in reply tojules45

Hey! I gave you my home number when we spoke. Phone lines were dodgy so we agreed to email instead. Don't you remember? I am shocked at your post, Julie.

Sorry not been in touch as much as you wanted, just having a bad couple of days.

Wish you well
