I've been off my antidepressants just over a week now and I'm feeling alive again. However I noticed I was slurring my words today and I'm worried about what I've read about liver disease being linked with depression and anxiety. What experience do you have with your condition and moods?
Liver disease linked with depression a... - British Liver Trust
Liver disease linked with depression and anxiety.
I understand completely what you mean..I have never taken any kind of medication but right now suffer from severe mood swings..This kind of behaviour has never been me..lack of sleep cirrhosis and complete lack of energy has taken it's toll on my health..add to that constant nose bleeds is getting me down
I also have to wait another 6mths to be treated with Harvoni because although I need to be treated I am considered not sick enough right now...so I do understand how you feel...yes having liver disease does make you feel like this.
Good for you coming of the medication and maybe slurring your words could be withdrawal symptoms.
Hello there,
When I first fell ill in January my symptoms started with loss of appetite and sickness. By the time February came, I went into depression and was anxious all the time. I also had a nervous break down sort of episode where I was so confused and I didn't know what I was saying. The doctor treated me with anti anxiety medications but I just knew I was jot anxious or depressed. I just knew I was unwell. Come march I became jaundiced and then was hospitalised. Then I was hospitalised a second time a month later is liver was failing. They admitted into a specialist hospital where I had a transplant within two weeks of being admitted. They told me that liver failure can cause depression, anxiety and confusion.
I was fine after transplant. The horrible symptoms had disappeared.
However nearly 6 months later I'm feeling anxious and sick and for a whole week my body has not stopped burning or tingling. I really Dont feel I am anxious because of worries. They feel it might be a side effect to the medicines. So let's see where we go.
Anyway I hope you get answers soon. Don't let them just fob you off with medications.
Good luck!
