Does anyone know that bad taste in the mouth cause liver problems?

Liver problem
I thought it could be a sign of liver problems buy not always. On its own it tells you nothing other than you have a bad taste in your mouth.
It's the other way round a bad taste can be caused by liver problems
I think that is what he meant to say. I agree with carmik.
Or if you do have liver problems it could be an effect of medication you may be taking for those problems.. I started taking Mycophenolate mofetil just over a year ago for decompensated cirrhosis arising from AIH and while it works well in controlling the liver enzyme levels it has in my case caused serious taste impairment and I can no longer enjoy at least 50% of the foodstuffs I used to enjoy . My consultant agrees that this is the case but reluctant to stop me taking the medication because it is doing its job on the liver and the choice of alternative medications is limited.. There is published research as well as the manufacturers' own patient information leaflets that support this but obviously the medication doesn't effect everyone in the same way.

Everything tastes like metal that's what I had for over a year gone now
