My Husband has gallstones and is in agony (has had D & V for 6 days) he is in hospital but nothing takes the pain away
Hello - Does anyone with decompensated... - British Liver Trust
Hello - Does anyone with decompensated cirrhosis take any regular painkillers ? (Not paracetamol) x
Hi there. My cirrhosis is not decompensated and I haven't got stones but the only thing that helps me with severe abdominal pain ( I have diverticular disease) is morphine. I know it sounds drastic but needs must. My mother had gallstones and morphine was all that touched her. I helps with the trots too lol but not with the sickness. You can get an anti-emetic prescribed with the morphine as it commonly causes nausea. Hope it helps.I know G.P.s don't like to prescribe morphine but sometimes it's the only thing. Good luck
Thank you xx they are reluctant to give morphine as he had a 'reaction' to it last Xmas - they can't remove gallbladder until transplant - can't believe that there isn't anything - it's awful and I can see him getting totally wound up - he keeps saying if this pain doesn't go He will take his gallbladder out himself (don't think he will lol) but I can see him doing something drastic - constant pain is awful xxxx thanks again I will nag the drs to try it again x
