I know Blue light is used for people with Crigler-Najjar syndrome; but wondered if somehow that is a different type of jaundice to Cirrhosis jaundice. My husband has decompensated liver disease with high biliribin levels, I have access to blue lights through my job

Hi carer2709, I know blue light treatment is used for neonates and new-borns who have jaundice by accelerating the breakdown of the various components of the bile exudate but I don't know the frequency range or the effectiveness on adult skin which tends to be more opaque. I remember when I had hep B being encouraged to sit in the sunshine to help with the itching but this was before the big melanoma scares lol. Ask your husband's consultant for the latest advice :=)
