Welcome to all our Questers to this Easter edition of The Quest. A very special welcome to all our new March Graduates who may be joining us! Definitely a shiny Easter Egg waiting for you! Join in the rest of us on the hunt for an Easter Running Goal.

I wonder what YOU hope to achieve this week? You may be a new graduate or someone training for a marathon.

Do you have a running plan that works in between the family coming, or your holiday abroad, or the to do list planned by your partner?

This is probably a very different week for most of us. For some it will be hectic for others quiet & contemplative. Whatever, we still want to fit in our runs. Maybe you will have more running time than usual. What’s the plan?

Questing is about preparing ahead of time! We runners are adaptable are we not? Put aside your usual quest & find something different, perhaps exciting, maybe shorter that works around your Easter plans. Do share these thoughts & ideas & enlighten or encourage someone else!

I will catch up with you again after the Easter weekend. Save me a dark chocolate Easter Egg please! 🐣 Enjoy your Easter Runs.

If you are new to the Quest, here is the info !

SO: What is the Quest ?

The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

The Quest takes one calendar month. You can join at any point during that time.

You do need to be a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest. The reason for this is that pre-graduation your week is very much structured according to the C25K programme, and I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.

Some popular goals are:

🍏To run three times a week

🍏To slowly increase distance

🍏To train for a specific race

🍏To add Stretch and Strength exercises to your weekly routine

This is a personal challenge, so it's completely up to you! If you want to join, all you have to do is COMMENT BELOW with something like:

I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in! I want to ..............

Every week I will put up a new post and we can all chat about how we are doing.

🐣 Thanks to  Oldfloss for hosting us this past month and we wish her well in her family plans this Easter🐣

Yikes! I have a few things to squeeze in from the March Quest before the April Fool shows up, and unpredictable achievability...

So... given that resurrection is not on the cards for me, I really must stop Googling solicitors for wills and trusts and actually get an appointment in the diary (and can I invite all Questers without a will or with an out of date one to join me in this... a very dear friend of mine is in an appalling situation because his partner didn't have one)

I am going to be finishing my restorative yoga programme and have downloaded the final class ready.

Going for a 5k walk and/or a 5K run as there's a lovely blue tit medal waiting for me if I do.

And meeting the Easter Bunny no heavier than I am today....

(I may also add getting a short holiday booked onto that list)

🍏 Thank you GoogleMe for highlighting a very important point for all of us! A valid WILL!!!

Booking a short holiday also a vital Quest priority!! However love your very attainable 5k Run/walk & the medal sounds delightful!!! Photo please when you get it! Have a great week interspersed with yoga and Easter eggs! 🪺 🤗

Can I add that as well as a will it's a really good idea to set up Lasting Powers of Attorney, so that if you become incapacitated your nearest and dearest can make decisions on your behalf. You can only set them up when you're well, you can do it online or get a solicitor to help you. There are separate ones for finances and health/welfare.

In my old work I met so many people who struggled to get their voices heard regarding medical treatments for someone they loved as there was no PofA set up and being a spouse/parent/child isn't enough in itself, not to mention the hoops that exist if, say, you need to sell your marital home because it's too big but your spouse doesn't have the mental capacity to sign this off.

I’ve got one goal for Easter:

Sign up to one of the SixPack Challenges ( see my post at healthunlocked.com/marathon... ) and run a first route if my nearest pack!

I am so looking forward to it!

🍏Excellent and they cover many areas. There is a request section if you would like to run somewhere not mentioned. Impressed you even going to book a holiday in order to do one of the places. Sign up and let us know more as you get to grips with it! Well done too on your recent 5K … 😍

I would like to join the Easter Quest, now I know what it is! I plan to do the Strength and Stamina runs with Steve Cram ('Beyond C25K) on Tue and Thurs this week, then my local parkrun on Sat. Fingers crossed 🙂. Good luck everyone

Hi @AnnieApple, thank you for hosting the Easter quest :) Hope your own quest goes well!

I'm a little late here. I've already done a 20 minute run at easy pace on Monday, and plan another at around 30 minutes and a longer one at around 45 minutes, but not sure which order they'll happen in. Managed a nice body-weight workout this morning at home, and I plan to get another of those in hopefully Thursday or Friday.

It's a bit more of the same from my March quest, taking things easy on my right knee. It's been ok for the last few runs so hoping to get back towards 10k at easy pace during April.

Ooh, a one week quest! That’s an interesting idea. For me? One goal and one goal only: 10k! I’ve already ordered a celebratory t-shirt and I don’t want to send it back…

Annieapple profile image
AnnieappleAdministrator

Thanks for dropping in & never too late! 😊So pleased that knee is behaving. You are like me the length of the run is decided on the day sometimes even during the run! 🤣However we are listening to our bodies and that’s a good thing! You are certainly doing all the right things to support your running too! Easy pace is is the staple diet of runners & makes for much enjoyment! See you next week but in the meantime have a Happy Easter!

Hi Annieapple , I'm a bit late to this.

Goal is to reach 9k by my birthday. This is less than a week away. I need to do it before my birthday because if I do it on my birthday morning nobody will believe me.

You can probably guess which day is my birthday 😂

Annieapple profile image
AnnieappleAdministrator

🤣🤣Yes indeed you don’t want to look foolish! Jokes aside the Quest is always open! No one can ever be too late to set goals. 9K is a fantastic distance! Hope you will be joining in the HU 10k/10mile challenge in May too! You sound more than ready for that!! Wishing you a Happy Birthday too. 🎈
