I had reluctantly decided that it was still too wet to run all around the lake. So⦠I decided to run a slow 5K up the flat eastern side. I would run for just over 25 minutes, then turn round and come back.
Originally I was going to try for a zone 2/3 run, but my heartrate is still too high. So I just ran at a comfortable pace until the last couple of minutes. I tested the pace by talking to myself for a bit π€£. There were a few people around, a couple of other runners and cyclists - quite a few couples walking, with and without dogs. All greeted me. There were a number of large puddles from the recent rain, which I avoided!
The lake looked gorgeous this morning with the early morning mists. Itβs a real joy to run hereπAutumn is on the way; not that can remember much of a summer! The temperature up here in βt north is a few degrees cooler than in Berkshire. It was 9 degrees during my run. Thatβs only pretty much perfect for running! Shorts and tee shirt. Jacket for after the run was left in the car. (I get cold really quickly when Iβve finished running.)
Weather permitting, I hope to run again at the weekend; a 3K run this time. πππββοΈ
