A slippy, splishy splashy kind of run…!πŸ’¦πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ™‚

I’m not gonna lie, this run was hard at times, but there is something very satisfying about completing a run like this out on the trails. Today I remembered that running through muddy puddles is often easier than attempting to run around them!πŸ‘ When there’s little room either side - it’s easy to slip or turn an ankle on the edge of a puddle. So today it was about running through them and embracing soggy feet! πŸ’¦πŸƒβ€β™€οΈMy beloved Hoka Speedgoats served me well as ever, although some of the mud is very clay-based around here and was so slippy: this was not a fast 10k!πŸ’πŸ˜‚

I squelched across a field to avoid one very muddy path and continued determinedly across an area we always refer to as β€˜the marshy bit’, which was VERY marshy today and a tough workout for my poor legs!😱

Back home however, with that very satisfied feeling and my Speedgoats washed and stuffed with paper!

Happy running this week everyone.πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Wow! You’re my hero! I’m still avoiding going through these … but you made me think! My favourite routes are behind muddy patches!

Do you use a hose outside of the house to get the first mud off?

I do love a little mud - but it does mean slowing down a little and taking care!

I don’t use a hose, I have a Boot Buddy - so you can fill it with warm water too! Definitely recommend.πŸ™‚

Excellent run for you through all that water and mud, well done, I am not sure if I would have continued to run if I had come across what is in that photograph, a few years ago when out a walk I did wade through water and mud ankle deep after heavy rain, the good news is that particular part of my walking and running route is being resurfaced and new drainage put in to avoid further flooding.

Yes, AlMorr , it’s not for everyone, I guess and some would say I’m a little mad - but I do love running at this time of year, mud included!πŸ™‚

Fab run Sandraj39 ! The best fun I've had during a run recently was on a steep (over 20% in places) part of a muddy forest trail I hadn't run before. Recent rain and passages by logging vehicles had made the surface particularly interesting!

That sounds tricky Cmoi !

Well I don't actually run the really dodgy bits, I either walk or do a sort of hoppity-skippy-here-comes-the-village-idiot stop-start thing. The sheer absurdity of it all πŸ™ƒ makes me giggle with joy.

Ha ha! πŸ˜‚Yes, I did a bit of that yesterday on the slippy bits!!πŸ™‚

That looks very squelchy Sandra, but it’s good to hear you are out running again.

Did someone hose you down before going in your house? πŸ˜‚

Yes, I have been back running for a while now Dexy, after illness at the beginning of the year. Yes, very muddy - glad we have a downstairs shower room!!

Oooh I remember something like that when at school in P.E. 'cross country'! And the showers afterwards😱

Brave work Sandra, I can imagine it being fun now, but very sticky!πŸ’ͺ⭐
