I know it’s a little late to be posting about Sunday’s run but it was so good to be back running 10K again after a winter of too many running breaks due to life, colds and Covid! Now, as Spring arrives with its longer days and new life 🌱🌸🐑🐣, I seem to have found greater consistency and a return to my 3 weekly runs🤞🙂.
The photo above was taken towards the end of my run - one that had started with me taking several wrong turns 🏃♀️↩️ as I tried to navigate a new route across a local housing estate!🤣 I then went a little ‘off piste’ from the old railway line, when I decided on running a small track I had not used in a while - I literally had to stop to pull brambles out of the way - it was very slow progress! However, I eventually emerged to run around the field above - feels like being back on home ground and always one of the places that I really enjoy tootling round!
What a joy and what a fab way to spend the morning!
Hope everyone is having a good week.🙂🏃♀️🏃🏽

It is so good to get back into it isn't it! You had a rough time and like so many of us, have been building back!
What beautiful route too...and I am smiling as I read because although my runs normally are in terrain very like that in your photo, on Sunday, I was not on the fields, and I took a detour through a housing estate and I got lost!
Brambles can be very vicious sometimes... as can nettles, but as you say, the sheer joy for you getting where you want to be again, and surrounded by such beasty... Wonderful. I am so pleased, for you x
PS
I might post my Sunday report too.. even though it is two days later... thanks you!
I think I got off lightly with covid Oldfloss - but I came back slowly because I know it can sometimes have a sting in its tail, even when symptoms are mild.
I had to laugh when I read you also got lost on a housing estate!!🤣🤣 We really should stick to those trails - so much easier!🤨
It’s so good when you hit a rhythm again. Such a great run report-I felt like I was along with you…especially getting lost and taking random diversions. That’s how many of mine go too! Dealing with unexpected brambles on the track isn’t something that’s usually covered on many guided runs!!! Tough but satisfying, I bet.
I’m supposed to be doing a long run today but we’ve got a load of snow. I think the walking boots might come out instead!
I love spring time. New season and new life. It feels good to be outside anyway. Well done on your running and enjoy your next weekend run. I too am looking forward to parkrun on Saturday and a long run on Sunday morning.
