A snotty 5k-oh deer!

It was going to be the long run of the week today but the tail end of my coldvid is still hanging around like a bad (lack of) smell. I’m feeling mostly ok apart from my nose running like a tap. I decided a leisurely 5k with added tissues was the best way forward. It was a tough one. I’d totally forgotten I’d been gardening most of yesterday afternoon which involved a lot of squatting. My goodness I could feel that going up the hills. It was overcast and a bit miserable. There was a whole section of uphill I hadn’t realised would be there. Still, I did it and it was good to tick it off the plan. Sometimes there’s something satisfying about a “get it done” run. I’ve done a double load of stretches and it’s bath time next.

On the way back, I took a longer route for the cool down walk. I was really lucky to spot two deer much closer than I usually see them. I wished I’d had my proper camera and not just my phone!

Aw, what an amazing photo. How lovely. Great job getting back out there and nice of the universe to reward you on your cool-down walk.

Thank you! It did feel like a pretty sweet wildlife spot after a what felt like quite a tough run. A reward from the universe is a very nice way to look at it!

Thank you! The legs are on the way back. Thinking about it, last week was a very light on the activity week so I shouldn’t have been surprised to be a bit achey after so much crouching down. Will be interesting to see how I feel tomorrow!

Seeing those deer was your reward for getting out there and running when you probably didn't much feel like it!Hope you're properly better soon :)

Thank you! Definitely on the mend now. My nose has almost dried up. We’ve got a lot of local wildlife but this was a special spot.Tomorrow is supposed to be a run day but I might take an extra recovery day. Who knows, if it’s a run there might even be some stags or fawns to keep me company!
