Not a great start to 2022 . . .

I notice that I haven't been here since December, that's perhaps due to the fact that very little running has been done in the past two months due to a persistent stomach ulcer. I did a few odd 3k's but I've mostly been feeling too unwell to run, not good. Not completely OK yet but I can report that I did manage a slow 5k plod yesterday which I'm quite pleased about, it signals a return to some sort of running normality I think. I hope everybody has been faring a bit better than me with their running so far this year. Happy running everybody 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🙂

Sorry you’ve been through that, it sounds tough. But great news that you’re running again, it’s hard to keep a runner down!

Yes I've been itching to get out there, the mind has been willing but not the body sadly, hopefully now though I have turned a corner 😁

Congrats on getting out there for a 5K! 👏 I know how good that feels having been on the IC for a few weeks in January (self inflicted minor injury). Sorry to hear of your trouble, and great that you're on the mend - hope it continues to go well.

Thanks, it felt good, well actually quite hard work but you know what I mean 😁 Hopefully I haven't lost too much fitness, nice sunny day here currently so I'm planning on venturing out again later today 🤞😃

Glad to hear you're back. Was the ulcer treatable without surgery?

Thank you . . . yes, well, I think so🤞 . . . I've been on a course of Omeprazole. Its taken since early January but finally I think I'm now on the mend, sleeping better and most importantly able to start running again 🙂

Running has to be a good antidote to stress and stress aggravates ulcers so keep running!

Thank you . . . I've certainly lost some fitness, it does seem quite hard work at the moment, but I was expecting it to be worse. Another 4k plod yesterday, I'll maybe venture out again tomorrow.

And that's absolutely natural. Slow and steady will get you there though.
