Drumpellier Parkrun Cancelled - ICE on course
It looks lethal even to walk in. Still waiting on 2 day test results pcr to get out house. Mr D got his 4.30 this morning. It must be January Blues feels like havnt got the effort , maybe different once results come in and get out. Is parkrun cancelled Scotland as well as Wales.
Parkrun is not cancelled in Scotland due to Covid, hopefully Wales can get their parkruns back as soon as possible, I intended to go to my home parkrun which is not Drumpellier, its at Dunfermline which was on this morning but my friend Keith who takes me there wasn't feeling too well, hope to be back next week, Drumpellier Parkrun is the parkrun that I have had a PB, that was last October, I hope your 2 day test results are negative and you can get out of the house soon.
Al Morr is King π€΄
Thatβs a shame Al, keep warm keep safe
I suppose a lot of runner's turned up this morning to be told the run was cancelled, I didn't go to Drumpellier Parkrun this morning, instead I ran a short 3K around the park near to where I live which wasn't icy at all, just a lot of puddles due to the rain and melting snow from Friday.
Wow! Nasty! βΈοΈβοΈ
Wow!! π±
Wow! That's some serious looking ice there!π₯Ά
Dangerous to walk on, let alone run, only good for skates, despite the temperature being just above freezing it was too icy and dangerous for Parkrun at Drumpellier today.
Just over two years ago in November 2019 I ran at Drumpellier Parkrun in a temperature of - 6C/21F in a time of 30:56, only to be bettered at the same parkrun in October last year of a new PB of 30.09
That does look very lethal alright! Thankfully not like that over hear yet. Take care
It's been well above freezing here so no danger of ice so far! Glad you managed a run even if it wasn't parkrun as you had planned π
I had planned to go to Dunfermline parkrun this morning, but Keith, the man who takes me to parkruns in his car wasn't feeling well but hopes to be back next week, Drumpellier Parkrun is the other parkrun I go to, that's the parkrun that I have had several PB's because it quite flat.
Oh no, hope your friend feels better soon and you can get to your next planned PR π€π€I guess you can always do another (not)parkrun instead but it's not the same
Gosh Al, I think weβd all agree as runners that ice is a no-no. βοΈβοΈ Hope your friend feels better and you can go next week. π€
That looks horrible Al - having broken my wrist slipping on ice a couple of years ago, I can understand why you wouldnβt want to run on it! Cancelling it was a sensible move!
That looks treacherous. There is always the next Saturday.
Wooo! Very wise to call it off. Hospitals have got enough on their hands already. Have you still got a safe place to run, Al?
Weather is a bit mad up here at the moment isn't it? We were through in the West (near Glasgow) for the hols and it was 15Β° at Hogmanay! Then a few days later it was hard frost then a heavy snow fall. π€·ββοΈ
The weather, particularly the temperature has varied from day to day, it was very mild in December then got colder on Friday when there was a lot of snow which has now melted, glad to say that this week the weather will be better, no snow and not much rain.
That looks like a good reason to cancel parkrun! May next week be warmer for you.
