Wake up - raining. Shall I go or not? Yes let's go ..
"I can't believe you're actually going running on Christmas Day!" Mr B says
Compromise. I get up make coffee, take it back upstairs and we drink it in bed.
"Right, I'm going now". I say...
Kit up. Leg swings , a few squats and out.
It's a really heavy drizzle, and with the wind in my face. I'm loving it...
A couple of dog walkers wish me Happy Christmas π π
I pass one other runner who I remember from when I was running last summer. "We've earned a mince pie when we get home" she says...
Oh yes we have!
This first week of c25k has been both more difficult than the first time, but yet easier at the same time. I think it's to do with cardio fitness, but my legs need to get used to this running business again. It's why I'm doing the plan again- I know it works.
This run set me up perfectly for Christmas Day. Dinner cooked, eaten and slumped watching the latest James bond film on bluray. A bit strange without Dad here this year, but we all had a nice day. He wouldn't have wanted it to be otherwise.
I can't wait to start week 2 to try out the new bone conducting headphones Santa brought me.
Happy Christmas all! ππ π

Well done, on your Christmas Day run. Sounds like you enjoyed it!I woke early this morning, Boxing Day, and thought about going out for a run, but weβve had such a storm here since Friday evening and itβs still raging this morning that I donβt think itβs wise to try running in it yet, hopefully it will settle down as the day goes on and Iβll get out later, I live at the coast at the Irish Sea and itβs just too rough for running, thereβs no shelter to be had.
Merry Christmas, enjoy your new running gifts. I have some nice new fitness wear to try out ππππ
I also thought about going out this morning but the rain is horrendous and I dont have anything waterproof to run in. Santa brought me a garmin so wanted to try it out lolWell done to you for getting out
Now that is commitment! I can tell you're loving it and the fact that you're already a runner means you're not deterred by the weather or the fact that it's christmas day. Well done you!
Well done you and Christmas sounds perfect, a Christmas present to yourself getting out running is the best present you can give, enjoy the bone conducting headphones, isnβt santa great? Wishing you strong legs to carry you further
I like it so much i took it out again today, my friend has a similar one and iβve sort of coveted it without knowing why but when Iβve been running with her and take my hoodie off and itβs flapping round my waist sheβs kept her jacket on and now i know π I had such a good run today πHappy Boxing Day
This is a great post! It will be lovely following you through the weeks. As each one passes, you'll get those legs ever more comfortable. Let me know how the headphones go too! π
Thanks dijep. It was the absolute perfect start to Christmas
Well done, especially with the drizzle going on! I haven't been out for a run (not even for a walk) in 2 weeks I think. This grey weather is just getting me down. So hooray for you for actually going out!
Yes that grey damp murk gets to you a bit doesn't it. Not designed to entice you outside.I succumbed today. A nice relaxing day indoors after our visitors have gone
Well done! I am a bit jealous, I succumbed to the lure of food, drink and TV, my excuse was it was so dark and wet and miserable outside. I did go out for a decent walk before my Xmas lunch and for a good walk on Boxing Day afternoon, before making a dinner of the leftovers.
It's OK to succumb every once in a while, and if not at Christmas then when?I let the rain get the better of me today - tomorrow is the start of week 2 π
Hi Peter, no not too late all. Thank you and yes I did thanks It was nice to have mum to stop though a bit odd at the same time.I hope you had a nice Christmas too
Happy New Year - hoping 2022 will be kinder to everyone, everywhere π
