A warm but Steady 5K 🌞

So I was out of the door at 06:30 this morning with the intention of doing a 5K run .

It was bright and sunny already but a nice cooling breeze as i started my warm up walk

I decided to do the NRC 5k run .

Mr Garmin locked on straight away this morning and I was off .

Had to conciously keep the pace down initially as fresh legs always want to go quicker !

It was comfortable for the first km and just settled in by 1k and was warming up .

The first split came out at 07:52

The 2nd section is a slight downhill some of the way so very easy to let the pace pick up too much so again I was very conscious of this and just let it come a little quicker than the first km and it came out at 07:37

It was certainly warming up by now , the sun was a little higher .

Luckily I was dressed for a hot run ,

Very light shorts and a light running vest .

Around a corner now and onto the uphill bit , I managed to keep a steady pace and the 3rd km came out at 07:22

The next section was similar, with an uphill and downhill section and infact the split came out exactly the same at 07:22

I was getting quite hot by now and starting to sweat a bit , it felt like the temperature had already risen a few degrees.

I was glad I didn't go out any later !

On to the last km now and let the pace pick up and I finished the last split comfortably at 06:47

The horse in the picture is in a field just where I stop running so lent on the gate for a minute to cool down then walked back home .

More water as I got in , Stretches done then porridge and a mug of tea followed by a shower.

And as always , feel good after the run 😁

Well done on your run and yeah weather can be annoying. I prefer a bit colder weather above hot weather any day!

This was certainly warm , ok at the start but I certainly wouldn't have wanted to go later !

Yes, it's difficult to get up I won't deny ! But I work around 11 ish so like to get it in beforehand and come back , shower , breakfast and chill 😁

Well done, good splits and a horse thrown in. If I get anything it’s yappy little dogs! I was going to run this morning too but it’s just too hot. Happy 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Great run, Ian! A comfortable, early 5K is just what you needed. Negative splits and enough in the tank to pick up pace on the last km. Lovely photos, too! 👏👏👏👍

That was a very good run for you today Ian, lovely photo and stats as well, yes the weather is getting warm now and 6.30am is a very good time to start a run.

This morning I began my 8K run at 8.40, that's two hours ten minutes later than the time you began your run, it was a PB 8K in a time of 56.42, there was one problem, the sound on my Smartphone went off so I had no updates or the 165 tick tok beats per minute from my metromone app so I had to hold the phone while I ran, guess what, 5 minutes after I completed the run I rebooted the phone and the sound has returned.
