Lovely weather for a nice walk for you Peter44, warm tomorrow again so get your run starting around 8/9 o'clock to avoid dehydration and the heat of later in the day, lovely photos, that boat in the 4th photo looks as if it's going to sink if it wasn't supported by a rope.
Yes, the boat not looking too healthy π€£ and your right, will have to be an earlier run tomorrow. Hope you've been able to enjoy the sunshine, if you have it up in scotland! π
No it's dry but cloudy in most of Scotland, but I did get a good 7K walk this morning, some of which was along the Forth and Clyde Canal, didn't see any boats at all, ha, perhaps they have sank, but I doubt that
That canal was closed to boats back in the 1960's, it reopened around the year 2001 but since about 2010 very few boats use it, if they do it's only for very short journeys along the canal, it's best now for walks, runs and bike rides along its banks, last summer I counted around 30 cyclists and 10 runners when I went a bike ride along part of it, no boats at all although there were a few canoes.
I live 5K from the nearest part of that canal, I have cycled on the towpath hundreds of times over the last 30 years and walked many times as well, but I have never ran on that towpath.
Looks like it was a lovely walk, although it may have been a bit too warm to walk fast! Perfect for a yoga session and natter in the garden, though π
Thereβs trick to early morning runs. The trick is - get out of bed before you start to decide whether you want to run or not! Quickest of showers and running clothes on! You can argue with yourself about it once you you start running π
Dont worry Julia, my walking, is like my running, slow! π€£ i always have to tell my daughter#2 to slow down, when we're out walking! π€£Bet the yoga was nice and relaxing, in the sunshine, just what you need right now! βΊβΊβΊ
The yoga was blissful, I was in danger of falling asleep!
Iβm not a fast walker - if I try and speed up I end up pulling muscles. Thatβs what the yoga session was for, to recognise those muscles and learn how to give them a good stretch.
Itβs lovely in Scotland too, still a coolness in the air though. Possibility of snow at the weekend. Lovely pictures. Sometimes we just donβt take the time to look around us
Nice views. I went for a walk today too but it was short distance and took ages as its first week out with puppy π. Had a good run yesterday though and, although I usually leave a two day gap I'm tempted to make the most of the good weather and run tomorrow.
Pitta is doing fine thanks. She's nowhere near old enough to run with me. They need to finish growing first so they don't harm her joints and she's only about 12 weeks. But she's a lit if fun except when I'm trying to work on my veg patch and them she's an absolute pain because she really, really wants to help π€£π€£
Your walk looks equally as gorgeous as ours, without the electric fences π I donβt think Iβd have safely got through some of the downhill parts safely without the trail shoes, it was steep
Lovely photos Peter, so nice to be out in the fresh air enjoying the sunshine π. I see youβre becoming tempted by the thought of an early morning run π
It was definitely cooler around 7 when I went out: about 5-6 degrees, but a bit less than that in βfeelβ. Looking forward to hearing how you find the change of time. Lovely photos, and as you say, itβs nice to be able to pause and admire the views.
Well, my early today, ended up about 10am, too much faffing about! π€£ but wasnt too bad π₯΅ bit cooler, and overcast here, a slowish 8k completed.Have you heard anything from
Good morning Peter,Well done on your walk and enjoy your run today.
Thank you for sharing thr beautiful pictures, I love the canal and those gorgeous donkeys they are just so cute. It is lovely to see photographs of where other runners, run. It must be such a delight to run along that canal.
Lol you should try the early morning running. I am going for a run today but I am delighted to have had a lay in, but my next runs co inside with working so will be out early and I canβt wait as know how good it makes my energy levels feel.
Thanks Rebecca, bit too much faffing about this morning, got out for my run, just after 10am, a slow 8km's, but more overcast here, so not too bad! π₯΅ Hope you had a good one πββοΈπββοΈ too, i'll never win the very early morning race
Hmm thanks for that. I hope you southerners realise how traumatised us lot in the north are by all this talk of hot weather. We dream of overheating up here!
I ended my 90+ day drinking exile and went on a two day bender π€£though I did run 5k yesterday THEN started the drinking π€£π€£ can't resist a bit of sunshine ππ»
