Lovely weather for a nice walk for you Peter44, warm tomorrow again so get your run starting around 8/9 o'clock to avoid dehydration and the heat of later in the day, lovely photos, that boat in the 4th photo looks as if it's going to sink if it wasn't supported by a rope.

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10β€’ in reply toAlMorr

Yes, the boat not looking too healthy 🀣 and your right, will have to be an earlier run tomorrow. Hope you've been able to enjoy the sunshine, if you have it up in scotland! 🌞

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10β€’ in reply toPeter44

No it's dry but cloudy in most of Scotland, but I did get a good 7K walk this morning, some of which was along the Forth and Clyde Canal, didn't see any boats at all, ha, perhaps they have sank, but I doubt that

Birdlady64 profile image
Birdlady64Graduate10β€’ in reply toAlMorr

Not wedged in the banks of the canal then? 🀣

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10β€’ in reply toBirdlady64

That canal was closed to boats back in the 1960's, it reopened around the year 2001 but since about 2010 very few boats use it, if they do it's only for very short journeys along the canal, it's best now for walks, runs and bike rides along its banks, last summer I counted around 30 cyclists and 10 runners when I went a bike ride along part of it, no boats at all although there were a few canoes.

Birdlady64 profile image
Birdlady64Graduate10β€’ in reply toAlMorr

It must be lovely to run walk or cycle along the canal

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10β€’ in reply toBirdlady64

I live 5K from the nearest part of that canal, I have cycled on the towpath hundreds of times over the last 30 years and walked many times as well, but I have never ran on that towpath.

It is nice, but can get quite busy at weekends, and with the nice weather, not too bad near me, busier nearer watford, where there's a big park too!

Looks like it was a lovely walk, although it may have been a bit too warm to walk fast! Perfect for a yoga session and natter in the garden, though 😊

There’s trick to early morning runs. The trick is - get out of bed before you start to decide whether you want to run or not! Quickest of showers and running clothes on! You can argue with yourself about it once you you start running πŸ˜„

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10β€’ in reply toJools2020

Dont worry Julia, my walking, is like my running, slow! 🀣 i always have to tell my daughter#2 to slow down, when we're out walking! 🀣Bet the yoga was nice and relaxing, in the sunshine, just what you need right now! ☺☺☺

Jools2020 profile image
Jools2020Graduate10β€’ in reply toPeter44

The yoga was blissful, I was in danger of falling asleep!

I’m not a fast walker - if I try and speed up I end up pulling muscles. That’s what the yoga session was for, to recognise those muscles and learn how to give them a good stretch.

It’s lovely in Scotland too, still a coolness in the air though. Possibility of snow at the weekend. Lovely pictures. Sometimes we just don’t take the time to look around us

The weather's mad at the moment, i heard talk of snow at weekend! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Nice views. I went for a walk today too but it was short distance and took ages as its first week out with puppy 😊. Had a good run yesterday though and, although I usually leave a two day gap I'm tempted to make the most of the good weather and run tomorrow.

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10β€’ in reply toLifluf

How is Pitta getting on, are you running together now?Think we've all been out walking in the sunshine today 🌞

I'm trying to fit 2 days between runs now too, after my injury problems!

Lifluf profile image
LiflufGraduate10β€’ in reply toPeter44

Pitta is doing fine thanks. She's nowhere near old enough to run with me. They need to finish growing first so they don't harm her joints and she's only about 12 weeks. But she's a lit if fun except when I'm trying to work on my veg patch and them she's an absolute pain because she really, really wants to help 🀣🀣

Your walk looks equally as gorgeous as ours, without the electric fences πŸ˜‚ I don’t think I’d have safely got through some of the downhill parts safely without the trail shoes, it was steep

It was definitely cooler around 7 when I went out: about 5-6 degrees, but a bit less than that in β€˜feel’. Looking forward to hearing how you find the change of time. Lovely photos, and as you say, it’s nice to be able to pause and admire the views.
