Just a quick thanks to all the virtual running / workout / yoga bodies. Despite various lockdowns, my private life has become quite busy and exciting, all due to the wonderful world of all things running and fitness. But at some point I should stop signing up to these events, right?

So this happened in the last few days:

Sat: Not being satisfied with only Yoga with Adriene for developing flexibility, and inspired by RunaroundSue I embarked on a 5 day exploration of Tai Chi. And it is certainly what Adriene would call “yummy”! Link here healthunlocked.com/strength...

Sun am: Having regretted not signing up for the #winterrun I just had to download the Auro app on Sunday and run my regular 5k to the sounds of all you #winterrun 10k runners out there! I heard the penguins party Spotify playlist, the drummers, the choir and followed Lucie’s instructions to sharpen up those arm movements, relax those shoulders and run that little bit more upright.

Well done all you #winterrun 10k runners! Next year I want to be there as well, not just drooling over the route, that atmosphere and - wow! - that bobble hat!

Sun pm: by the evening just a gentle nudge from dijep and off I went to sign up for my first ever race! 😱 Yup, race! My, oh my. Runner 583. 10k race on Easter. I’m not going to win any runderwear at it’s Festival of Running, but then I have enough collected thru my Zombie runs (sorry, insider joke, but yes, the zombie world distributes not badges but sports bras and clean underwear)👙 Link here (to FoR, not underwear) runderwear.co.uk/pages/fest...

Mon pm: So of course what else to do Monday evening then to commit to another challenge, the Cape of Good Hope 22,000 km Ultra Relay 📣📢. A runner’s world is certainly a fast-moving world! No matter how slow you jog! 🐢

Brilliant CBDB. 👏👏👏 What a lovely selection of challenges! It’s great isn’t it, especially in these very strange times. It’s wonderful to connect with others, share our experiences and stay fit. It would be so easy to hibernate and become a couch potato, but personally I’m the fittest I’ve been for years. My friends are complaining about weight gain. I remain quiet on that front - or I could get on a very tall soapbox! 😅

I believe we on HU are living our best lockdown. Good luck with your challenges! 🥰

Yes, I sometimes hope that I would have started all this even without this awful pandemic, but lockdown gave me running, and running gave me this community and everything else.

That's my mission this month - stop the weight gain and start to get back to mormal. That's with exercise, on the couch I'd be awful by now!

Haha. I so am not!! One thing's for sure though, I definitely don't need to carry an extra stone for that 50+km if it ever happens 😀.

Great stuff! I started Yoga with Adriene last year and she almost crippled me to begin with 😂! Tai Chi sounds interesting, will give it a go.

Try it, it's gentle but you can feel it giving a workout.

I am hooked. It claims 5 minutes a day, but I am doing more, by choice

That's a lot of pleasures to juggle especially while running 🤣Thanks for pointing out the HU ultra relay I saw a post a while ago but missed the important announcement one.

Just done my first run of the 10k plan it was h a r d work!
